Yeah, dropping the price majorly helped move them. went from 20-30k a week to 50, and then to 200k when the major tittles started to hit around November.

I'm I missing something with the music? I love Coyboy Bebop as much as the next guy, but... Something isn't clicking.

It's an upbeat, happy-sounding song. :D
To help us forget about bad things... like a certain show on a certain channel, both of which are worthless.

I can't believe it's been almost seven years since Watanabe did a series. Someone tell him to get on it.

Isn't this anime around 10 years old? I don't think you can honestly feel someone should be obligated to have a spoiler tag for something so old...

... C'mon, really? The series is over 10 years old... If it just came out (or was just dubbed), I could understand complaining about spoilers... but really? At some point, when some form of media is several years old, you gotta just accept the fact that many others have already seen it/read it/heard it/played it, and that people will likely talk about it.

And if you're just being sarcastic... then omit everything I just said.

I thought I was the only one who saw that on the album cover. Kudos for that.

@ person complaining
Its been 10 years, if you haven't seen it by now, you shouldn't expect someone to put up a spoilers warning. Thats like expecting someone to put a spoiler up when they talk about the ending to Star Wars Episode IV because you haven't seen it yet (which if you haven't by now is probably the most disappointing thing I will here this week)

Is it really that hard to just write "SPOILERS" at the top of your post? It's like ten keystrokes. Eleven if you use caps. I'd rather do that then retroactively ruin someone else's enjoyment.

I don't have a problem with minor spoilers being thrown out here and there; it's ten years old, I don't blame you. But the main character's death at the end of a series? That's like, the most major a spoiler can be. I don't care how old it is, that's should go under a spoiler heading.

@Colin you need to get from under the rock more often. It's been TEN YEARS.

Besides, you don't really know if he dies or not. The writers themselves left it as questionable.

"Watanabe stated, “I’ve never officially said that he died. At this point, I can tell you that I’m not sure if he’s alive or dead.” He also stated that he believes fans would be upset if there was a continuation."

Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Spiegel

10 years... Get over it. -Actually, it debuted in 1998.. You don't deserve a Spoiler Alert.

You know...to be honest....

*SPOILER*
After having watched the series several times, I've come to the conclusion that Spike didn't die at the end. Know why? At the beginning of the series the Native American (is he?) elder explains to the child that stars are like the physical manifestation of warriors and that when they go out it means they have died. At the end of the last episode we see one star go out, meaning only Vicious died and Spike lived.
*END SPOILER*

OT: I didn't even read the post I'm posting on, I saw/heard Bebop and it brightened my morning. Thanks Joystiq! =D

Still watch the show! Look, spoilers here, but if it's between not finishing the series and reading the below, read the below.

*Spoilers*

It's ambiguous whether he dies. The creator has intentionally never confirmed one way or the other, and the fanbase is split on it. With this said, the ending is spectacular, so it would be a real shame to never finish watching.

Just because the series isn't new to you anymore doesn't mean there isn't someone who is just getting to experience it. You wouldn't sit down with your little brother to show him Star Wars for the first time and then say "That guy's really Luke's dad." the first time Vader is on screen in episode 4.

Dear Joystiq guys and gal,

You know I love you, but you really need to check the comments once in a while. I usually click through at least a couple articles every day and generally enjoy the comments. There may be trolls, fanboys, and general internet dickery, but there is usually quite a bit of decent chatter amongst your readers and fans. This chatter is broken up by these spam comments on a regular basis that we as a community are expected to report.

I don't report comments anymore because waiting for dialog boxes to pop up (even after clicking the "prevent dialog boxes" tab) was just as frustrating as dealing with the comments themselves. I see that several of these comments are up for many hours, so I assume others skip the reporting process as well.

Anyway, other benefits can come from reading more than just reported comments: You can further engage your captive and sometimes perceptive audience. You don't have to write to every commenter, but a simple message to a smart reader is sometimes all it takes to keep said reader from leaving your site and going elsewhere.

Now, you probably don't care what I think, but having been a fan of yours for many years I honestly care about the well-being of the site.

Best of luck,
Ellimem

tl;dr: Yo dog, this spam is annoying.

Bringing back Arrested Development is a huge mistake. It was a great show but they need to leave it alone and accept the fact that it wasn't meant to be on forever.

It's going to turn into the Family Guy, it'll never be as good as it was the first time it was on.

My understanding is that AD is coming back for one short season (10 or so episodes) spotlighting each character, all in a lead up to the AD movie that was already being done.

I consider it gravy, not a huge mistake.
