I love the ninja gaiden series and it's gameplay but I have never even came close to finishing one of these games, due to its difficulty and the tears they induce.

I actually completed the 1st on on my Xbox and reached the Final Boss on the 2nd one on my 360 but gave up trying to beat it when I came within an inch of smashing my TV, 360 and Controller in rage...

Great fun though. ;)

Luckily for gamers like yourself they are including a Hero mode which features automatic dodging and blocking. We spare no expense!

Does anyone know if the normal difficulty for NG2 on Xbox is harder than NG Sigma 2 on PS3? because I just beat Sigma 2 and that was honestly the biggest cake-walk I have ever been through...a disappointment is really all it was; I mean, easy bosses, linear passages with nothing else to do other than kill the certain amount of people they launch at you; attaining weapons and upgrading them without even trying; after Sigma 1 I expected better than this but I guess this generation just can't handle games that make you think for half a second...

@legacybush It's harder. Sigma 2 was the beginning of the "dumbing down" for NG.

Check out, for example, Master Ninja Mode Chapter 11 for NG2.

Sigma 1 and 2 were both easier then the original versions.
(Additionally so with Sigma 1 when compared to black).

ME NO LIKEY!

Once this doesn't talk from my overall experience of the game and doesn't make me have to slave through this multiplayer for my platinum trohpy...they can throw all the usless, cheesy fillers that they want I suppose.

@RagingStormX Do you play video games or trophy lists?

@Oddgirl

I play games...but I platinum games that I like, and the Ninja Gaiden series happens to be very high in that category. I play through all my games first with no regards for trophies, than once beaten make the call if it was enjoyable enough to complete 100%.

I feel the need to point out that the plural of 'ninja' is 'ninja'

Actually, both are perfectly acceptable. Context is really the only thing that merits the use of one over the other, and even then it's still only for the purpose of thematic accuracy.

The single player looks more promising, but this multiplayer doesn't look like something I will invest in. I'm forseeing cheapshots, game balance issues and of course tons of lag.

So what about the whole "forced to bash a single button in every fight" thing? You mention the only thing you really dislike was the random characters which in my view seems incredibly minor compared to the potential game-breaking idea of being forced to qte button mash any time I want to kill someone.

Did the feeling of getting 3 kills before your fingers were too fatigued to carry on give you some sort of satisfaction? Did you even get close to getting any kills at all so don't know about this? Because as a previous NG fan I find this to be a far more concerning and important aspect of the game worth knowing about than a piece of scribble on my back.

I can imagine the multiplayer playing similar to if Bushido Blade had multiplayer(more than 2 players) except faster paced.

I'm still not sold. It definitely sounds like the idea has potential, but it's going to take a LOT of tweaking to realize it.

Nothing describes the feeling of triumph I experienced when I finally beat the NG2 final boss. Sadly, I have yet to finish NG1 though...

If all the cool stuff you do starts on the rooftops, why isn't everyone on the rooftops to begin with?

This sounds sort of like the mess that the Assassin's Creed multiplayer devolves to when people just sprint after one another for garbage 100 point kills.

Instead of making a separate multi-player mode, why integrate multi-player with single-player ala Dark Souls? Seems like the more logical option to me.
