Humble Indie Bundle 4 revealed, nab Meat Boy, Shank, Jamestown and more
43
As if you didn't already have enough fantastic games to play from this past year, the Humble Indie Bundle crew have made it their mission to completely overwhelm you with excellence. The fourth and latest package from the altruistic organization features an unparalleled lineup which includes Super Meat Boy, BIT.TRIP.RUNNER, Jamestown, Nightsky and Shank -- are and if you beat the average price with your choose-your-own-donation-level, you'll also grab Gratuitous Space Battles and Cave Story+. Note that all of these are PC, Mac and Linux compatible; a new feature for Jamestown and Shank.
As always, you can choose which portion of your donations go to the developers, to the charities (Child's Play and the Red Cross!) and to the Humble Indie Bundle platform itself. We think we speak for everyone when we say that this is an insane value that you'd be insane to pass up, you insane person.
[Update: Tim Ambrogi from Philly-based Jamestown-dev Final Form Games told us, "It's been our goal since launch to reach as many gamers as possible, so a Mac and Linux port were always our plan if we could afford the resources to develop them. Humble Bundle presented us with a cost/benefit proposition that made creating them now a low-risk decision." That's your money hard at work, people!]

There's always some unrevealed bonus games. Back in Voxatron, someone figured out how to find out what the bonus games are.

Well, I may not be psychic, but I'm good at pattern recognition. In Bundle 2, they gave the first bundle to anyone who beat the average. They did the same for 3. They're probably going to do it again here. Plus, they gave out the beat-the-average games for Introversion, and then added ANOTHER beat-the-average game.

Now I feel bad for paying $5 for the latest Indie Royale bundle (with no charity support and lame games).

@FernandoRocker
I only purchased their first bundle which was even a little eh. Their system sucks considering no charity is involved and the games are usually meh or have been discounted heavily already. Seems devs that sign up for IndieRoyale would be better off just discounting their game on Steam itself since they'd get more exposure that way anyway.
I guess there's a reason why they barely break 30k at best and humble bundle is always over 100k++

Once upon a time, Super Meat Boy was rumored to be headed to PSN. How long has that been squashed?

I bought this just for Cave Story+ but that's because I own all the rest.

Same here. I feel burned in a way because I own EVERY game except Cave Story, but I can't not do this.

I've been skipping the last few humbles, but I couldn't pass this one up.

I don't play games on my computer...but I'll still be buying this. What's wrong with me? :(

Sounds like an interesting lineup for this one, although I already own Jamestown, and can't stand Meat Boy.

Wow, here I thought they couldn't possibly bundle better games than in the past. They got my biggest donation yet. Keep up the good work guys.

I really wish they could work with Valve to get some Steam Gift support. Each time I buy a bundle, I already own at least one or two games offered. This time, it was three. At least if they had gift support, I could give away the my extra copies.

That sale is nearly pornographic. I barely have enough money for groceries at the moment and donated as much as I could.

The mac version of Nightsky is also new. I believe Linux too. I have been waiting for this version for SO FREAKING LONG. Cannot wait to play it tonight after my molecular biology final tonight!

I wish I could set the sliders for Red Cross and Child's Play independently.

Wow some of these games are easily worth the average price alone, let alone together. Maybe its because I grew up in the NES/SNES era, but Super Meat Boy, Cave Story and Jamestown are all ridiculously good.

I was actually going to buy Cave Story on the DS shop today (but was lazy), so seeing it in this bundle was serendipitous! And I paid more than my average to the developers solely because a Philly-based gamehouse is part of it (gotta represent for my hometown!).
I shouldn't've checked out with Google wallet, though...still haven't gotten my Humble Bundle redemption email, and with Paypal it's usually instant :/

Think can safely say Humble Indie is by far superior to Indie Royale, and that's even without the fact it gives money to charity.
I never thought they'd top the 2nd bundle, but then have.
Have bought the 2nd bundle, Frozenbyte bundle (and found the amazing Trine - worth it for that alone) and now this 4th bundle. Had exams over past few months so couldn't justify getting the 3rd as the list of games needing played just kept climbing.
Already have Bit Trip Runner for Wii and Nightsky from last Indie Royale bundle, but still worth it for Cave Story and Super Meat Boy which I would have probably both got on Steam Christmas sales anyway.

This is an amazing bundle. IndieRoyale stands no chance against this.

Wow this bundle is going up fast, and I can see why! I too skipped the last few bundles and was thinking that humble was going downhill (with much disappointment since it had a spectacular start), but I was so wrong. Snapped this one faster than any of their other bundles. Now I'm glad I didn't already pick up Super Meat Boy on XBLA.

Yay for Mac Jamestown! I bought it for Steam, and have strongly lamented its inability to play nice in emulation.. Weird for such a simple-seeming game. Now I shall give them more moneys.

Super Meat Boy alone is worth more than the minimum cost of this bundle and I think it's the 3rd liscence of SMB I have.
