To be honest, we were worried that Nintendo had decided against bringing the decidedly quirky Rhythm Heaven series to Wii after all. But much like the surprise announcement of a North American release of Xenoblade Chronicles, Nintendo revealed a new name and release window for Rhythm Heaven Fever in the pages of this month's Nintendo Power.
And now we know the specific date and price: Come February 13th, make your special Valentine (that's us!) happy with a fresh copy of Rhythm Heaven Fever, reasonably priced at $29.99. That's one way to overcome a perceived niche audience!

Smart move, I'd have had a very hard time swallowing this for $50, especially when I still have the DS version. Now if only they could do the same for Kirby.....

So, I've never played the DS version. Is it kind of like WarioWare with a bunch of random mini games? I love WarioWare and think the Wii version makes for a wonderful party game.

I wouldn't say that. The games last longer than 5 seconds for one thing, and everything is controlled with a tap or flick (or just holding the stylus on the touch pad). And it's, of course, rhythem based.
When you get right down to it every game is almost identical, all you are doing is changing up when you tap/flick. The aesthetics and music are what make Rhythem Heaven what it is. I'm telling you now though, it gets brutally hard. There is a level skip feature, a lot like what DKCR has where if you fail too many times you have the option to skip the level. And unlockables are HARD to get, especially the "perfect" ones.

A release date AND a cheap price?! Way to go, Nintendo! I was gonna get this for the normal $50, but knocking off $20 at launch is just awesome.

Only $30? I'm definitely getting this now. The DS version was so much fun and so interesting.
