@JimmyBoy

I don“t know, to be honest i prefer to see this games on the p.c. sometime later than never, i do understand the hate that many p.c. users have for the way microsoft treated us, but at the end i think this could be a good way to show the developers why skipping a platform and doing the old "exclusive stuff" is not a real business model anymore, after all the game was not exactly a million seller on the xbox, maybe now they can get some of the money back.

@CrabBattle - They originally weren't going to do a PC version and now they've changed their mind... I'm not sure I see the issue here.

Would you have rather they continued with their no PC version stance?

Well, maybe because this news is almost 2 years old and some people tend to change their minds over certain things within such a time period??

@Mcmax3000 This is not true at all. Remedy was always developing for PC with intent to port to consoles. Microsoft as publisher stepped in and decided they wanted the game as an exclusive for 360. So essentially there has been an almost gold version of this game for the PC sitting around for years. At least PC users will get DLC for free with the game.

@nrkist2424 - I meant originally as in when Alan Wake launched. I realize that the game was intended to release on PC when it was first announced.

Over 60 million Xbox 360s, and they still had to resort to a PC version. That's pretty pitiful gaming community.

@ItsameMatt03 I thinks its more to do with the fact that this wasn't advertised that much, and it released on the same day as Red Dead Remdemption

Good news for PC users I suppose.

It's an awesome game, and for anyone who hasn't done it yet - be sure to watch the live action prequel videos 'Bright Falls', 6 excellent episodes.

Is it really a port seeing as the game was in development for PC as lead platform?

After being marketed towards the PC, where an Alan Wake fanbase was created, Microsoft decides to pull a "middle-finger card" and say the game will NOT release on PC.

Giving the Dumbest Excuse of "some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realized that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive."

^Lies. But anyways, I'm glad the game is being finally released on the its lead platform before Microsoft jumped into the ship.

@xiLeShadow

I'd be surprised if this was truly a port, given all the work they had already put in on the PC version of Alan Wake. As you said, before MS pulled the carpet out from us it was the lead platform.
I suspect MS's idea was they'd get people to switch over and buy the Xbox version, which makes them more money than the PC version. Given the horrible way they handled it though, it kind of blew up in their face, and possibly would have anyway, especially considering remedy's past, which is quite PC-friendly.

also, I don't know why you're being downvoted for presenting facts.

@xiLeShadow How is a fanbase for this game created on the pc when it never released there (yet)?

You could say its a Pre-release fans but to say "(it) created the fanbase on the pc" is just wrong

@Kinthalis Red Dead could happen at some point. Uncharted will never happen, it's a Sony published game made by a Naughty Dog which is a Sony only dev.

@That One Guy

No, that's my point. Because if someone has a PC there's a good chance they can play it. My laptop is almost two years old and it can play games like Rage, Crysis, etc. at high settings with no problem, and the specs aren't all that high by today's standards. So computer wise, if they have a Mac they wouldn't be able to play it still.

PS3 is a given because Alan Wake is a Microsoft published game. That's why your point seemed misinformed.

@That One Guy He's right. I honestly can't think of a standard laptop that can't play games from this current generation on at least medium settings. Considering most people use laptops that aren't that old these days having a Mac or PS3 will be a reason people still won't be able to play it.

Not even a little. :-)

It's an action game with elements of Twin Peaks and survival horror. Plus it's got a good shooting/light-manipulation mechanic and a fairly unique narrative style.
