Wait... you must be careful about being successful and making original games, because publishers won't like it?

SCREW THE PUBLISHERS! YOU ARE A BUSINESS! NOT THEIR B****!

@FreakSheet it's easier to fall poorly in a new IP. i.e. Grasshopper Manufacture. Yes they are a business, and as so it's risky to start a new IP.

@FreakSheet

You forget that Dimps would not be making games without these publishers. If this flops then they will need to fall back into the hands of the publishers. If Dimps said screw the publishers, it'd be biting the hand that feeds them.

Good luck to them. While I personally think that most of their work on the Sonic series post-GBA has been pretty awful (Sonic Rush is overrated, they did the piss-poor Wii version of Sonic Unleashed that managed to be far more atrocious than the "real" version, and we don't talk about Sonic 4), they've done great work with Street Fighter and Dragon Ball.

I really hope they do a "real" game, even if it's a microtransaction-supported free to play type of game... Dimps making lame Facebook games is just a waste of talent.

You do know that Facebook games are pretty much all microtransaction-supported right?

But I have a better idea, instead of trying to make it on their own with Facebook games, why don't they team up with a major publisher who can help market, fund, and publish their game. That's what Platinum Games did with Sega.

@tendoboy1984 Facebook games are microtransaction-supported, yes. But not all microtransaction-supported games are Facebook games. In other words, what I'm trying to say is that I don't equate TF2 with Farmville.

Is this the same Dimps behind The Rumble Fish & The Rumble Fish 2 on the SAMMY ATOMISWAVE? If so their first deal should be to make these titles downloadable and support full online play.
