New Pokemon game is a Nobunaga's Ambition crossover, really

We promise we didn't photoshop this picture of a Pokemon and Nobunaga's Ambition crossover game, but only because there was no way that we would have thought to combine these two franchises, like ever. For more proof of our innocence, there is an official Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition website with a trailer for the game, apparently slated for a 2012 release on Nintendo DS in Japan.

We have to admit, the trailer does a good job of making the two games look like one, with individual Pokemon seamlessly matching a few Nobunaga's Ambition characters -- however, we're not sure how many girls want to be equated with something called a "Jigglypuff."

How would you combine them though? My first thought was using a great sword to cut off Charizard's tail, so that I can make some Charizard armor. But then I got sad.

This was already done (somewhat) in Monster Hunter 2 on the ps2 (Japan release only). The arena allowed you to capture a monster and have battles where your monster attacked another hunter with his monster. The first to kill either monster/hunter was the victor.

I don't see any pokeballs in the trailer, it's very possible that these Pokemon aren't kept in balls. Also, the real Pokemon games let Wailord and Skitty's mate, you really wanna question genetic experiments in an alternate universe?

I'm actually kind of excited to play this, or, as it will almost certainly never come to America officially, the fan translation on a DS emulator on my laptop.

Why not? Because in Japan, the name is Purin, not Jigglypuff.

I've never even heard of Nobunaga's Ambition, so I'm guessing this will be staying in Japan.

This makes as much sense as crossing Yu-gi-oh with Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Whatever works I guess....either they are *really* reaching for ideas now or this is a sleeper hit waiting to happen.

Nah I play pokemon and have been itching for it to change up some. I wasn't expecting this but I'm super excited for it.

I was hoping for the 3rd Gen V game or (this one is wishful thinking) Pokemon Snap 2.

I didn't want the third Generation V game, because I've played Black and White. I'm no longer a kid, so having that "Gotta play 'em all" slogan doesn't work on me.

But I will say, that Pokemon Snap 2 would've been so good. Maybe not this good, but still astoundingly good. Only issue with expecting either of those things was that Ninty said something along the lines of "It's an entirely new Pokemon game."

Still, SNAP 2!!!

Hell, don't stop there Nintendo! How about some Western crossovers as well? Call of Pokemon! Fallout: New Kanto! The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Team Rocket! Now that you've opened the door, the possibilities are endless!!

Its an SRPG. So think of stuff like Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Exactly how it plays tough, no clue but from the trailer I'd imagine its probably closer to the FFT side of this.

He may have enough ambition to be best, the best there ever was.

Ya know what I'm down for this seems a bit odd having a pokemon game mix with a turnbased strategey game but hell that seems kinda cool

I get a feeling that this one will see an English release in Summer.

That trailer wouldn't be any more Japanese if it had sumo wrestlers eating sushi while kamikaze bombing radio active whales in it.
