I wish it had games I gave a damn about. Like if it had BF3 or any new HUGE title from this year, it would be so awesome to me. Right now its just "blah"

Let's hope it doesn't fail miserably.

What's with all the crappy clients?!

Even the Steam client is bad. It's slow and has an inaccessible user-interface. I find it much easier to use the website e.g. to browse/explore games etc.

Honestly, I wonder why they bother making a client at all - may as well just use a website.

Actually the Steam website sucks too - but at least it's better than the client.

I wouldn't say it's bad but it needs some improvements...

It's so slow you'd rather use the browser?
That sounds like your computer/internets problem.
Mine and all of my friends clients run perfectly well.

Are you joking? Either you're pulling our leg or your I.Q. is abysmally low.

@MrClickerson Sound logic. It couldn't possibly be that the Steam user experience varies on different machines!

Here's one reason why the website is better - the client doesn't support tabs. On the website I can middle-click a link to open it in a new tab.

There is no excuse - as a developer myself I know that if the website is faster than the client then the client must be poorly coded.

Nothing wrong with my Internet connection and my PC is better than yours :p

Harsh words when talking about beta, even more so, public beta.

@drunkingamebar

I'm only criticising the Steam client.

I haven't seen the GameFly client.

Sorry for the confusion.

will we be able to rent PC games? if we could get a limited-time license for first-rate titles that expires when we "send the game back" that would be great.

Its a great client but yeah they really need some better games. The option makes the membership even more worth it in my opinion.

@PedoJokerBear

I'd consider signing up once they get some more games up. I've been thinking about signing up to GameFly for a little while and this would just make it even better once they get some good games on there.

@Ospov Gamefly has terrible turnaround time for discs and they like to ignore your queue's order. Even if you've got a game marked "available now" they might wind up sending you something all the way at the bottom of your list.

I've never had that problem before at all. I've never had a problem with gamefly in all of my 4 years with them. From hearing different good/bad stories with gamefly, I will say that your mileage may vary.

I've had access to the closed beta for a while, and I haven't used it at all. It is real easy to throw together your queue for your console games, but the PC freebies aren't much to gawk about presently.

So is this like the regular Gamefly, only for PC games? Or do they offer downloads only, or what's going on there?

And I'm guessing this still isn't available in Canada?

It works surprisingly well. Only, as everyone has stated, right now the selection pretty much consists of Assassin's Creed 1, PoP '08 & Sands of Time, Velvet Assassin, Splinter Cell 1, Saints Row 2 plus a ton of shovelware (I'm sure I missed a couple of notable ones, but that probably gives a fairly good idea of the lineup).

It's funny that they show a screen with Skyrim on it next to "Unlimited Play" in big letters, even though Skyrim is not on the list of playable games. Oh marketing.
