I just bought one of these and I'm kind of regretting it. I wish I went with the 4gb version.

I just ran through gears of war 2, shadow complex and insanely twisted shadow planet. And I'm working on Alan Wake which is decent, but after Gears 3 and maybe Halo Reach I"m not really sure what to play on it.

Are you seriously trying to say the 360 doesn't have many games....c'mon now.

oh boy. no. It doesn't have many games that I haven't already played over the past 5 years on other platforms. It's my own fault, I know I don't really like Halo and Forza isn't really high on my list either. I guess it was just an impulse buy.

For the next Gen I think I'm going to get an Xbox first and then wait a few years to get a Playstation. that way, hopefully all of the Sony first party games will pile up and drop in price while I spend my time on multiplatform games.

I think I did it backwards this gen.

why don't you wait 3 years after next gen. you will get the PS4 slim and Xbox slim.

No matter which way you go, Playstation first, followed by Xbox, or Xbox first, followed by the Playstion, you will always run out of First Party games to play. It's inevitable. Instead, just go with what you think you will play Multi-platforms on more. If it's a PC, well then the consoles are just exclusive toys.

Idunno, if I did it the other way I would have 5 god of war games to go through, 2 kill zones, 3 infamouses, 3 uncharteds, 2 little big planets, demon souls, heavy rain, the resistance games and a couple others.

I guess there is no way to say for sure that Sony will have the same focus next gen but it sure doesn't seem like MS is focusing on exclusives that I'm interested in.

You're right, I never looked at it in a 5 year + outlook. If it's like that then the best choice is to get the next Xbox first, because it's pretty obvious that Sony Playstation cares very much about exclusives, unlike Microsoft.

The 4gb version is worthless by itself. You'd have to fork over the $99 extra bucks or whatever for the 250gb hard drive to relieve any stress that comes with buying games that require larger mandatory console space to play.

My friend had to delete so much garbage just to play BF3 and Skyrim together.

i think next gen I may aim more towards Xbox. As impressive as the Sony lineup and performance goes, the online experience is where I always find myself at, and everyone knows the $5 a mo. for Live is way worth it compared to the free PSN experience.

I used to swear by playstation, then I realized both consoles have their pros and cons, and for my purposes xbox 360 has become my go to system for any multiplayer gameplay. Still love my ps3 though!

I actually hate XBL. Too many ads. I mean I love the universal invites and session joining but you know what? My friends only play two games online, MW3, BF3 and both of those games have fantastic friends sections for setting up games.

No, but what the 360 has to offer can be achieved on any other system, and better.

Want "core" gaming? Those games are also found on PS3.

Want motion fun? The Wii achieves this much better than Kinect.

i know my reply is late but i was referring to more of the actual quality of online play. In my experience the Xbox is less tempermental with internet providers as well, of course I'm sure just as many have had problems with xbox i suppose. I cannot begin to describe the issues I have had with online play at my college network via my ps3.

On top of that I feel the xbox party system is a great hassle free way of getting together just to talk to friends, especially when some games have party systems that suck.

In my experiences xbox has given me less problems...while ps3 leaves me to the world of port forwarding with many of my games...depending on the networks I connect to. And i suppose for that main reason the $5 seems more appetizing to me

Why? They could give these away and not move more units than the PS3 and Wii there...

For comparison, how is the PS Move doing in Japan?

I thought the Japanese love motion controlled games, hence the reason the Wii sold so well throughout it's lifespan.

I guess Japan is now the nation of handheld lovers, since the PSP, DS, 3DS, and now Vita are outselling everything else.

@tendoboy1984 Heck yeah Japan is hellbent on handhelds. That way all the Japanese men can take their girlfriends with them. I'm serious. Haven't you read about the hotel rooms and dinner reservations for two, but is usually one man and his handheld pixellated girlfriend?

I'm not being anti-Japan here. I am 100% serious. Japan is in love with their handhelds and dating/sex games.

Microsoft should just give up on Japan. They've been beating the same dead horse for over 8 years. If they can't win 'em over with Kinect, then they'll never have a chance.

Maybe Microsoft should just make an Xbox handheld, cause handhelds are huge in Japan (looks at PSP, DS, 3DS, and now Vita tearing up the sales charts).

No offense to Japan, but unless Microsoft starts catering to anime games, handheld systems (someone mentioned above) and rpg's of any form featuring a character with a massive 20 ft long sword, or big bouncing boobs, Japan would rather just stick to Sony.

Again no offense to the Japanese

I don't spend much time on the dashboard so ads don't really bother me. Usually I just go straight into the game and use the dashboard for invites and party chat. My first console was the original ps followed by the Ps2 and I had a huge catalog of games for them both (300+). I was a huge sony fan but I got the 360 first because of price and the fact the ps3 came out a year later. The dashboard used to be one of my favorite features since I found the ps3s a little clumsy and over complicated but with each new update I find myself caring less. It's cool that they're adding new features but I use my computer and smartphone for YouTube videos and to keep up on my UFC news. I digress. Sorry about the rant. My point was there should be many different factors in which one you pick up first.
