"It's pretty unlikely at this point that you own an Xbox 360 without a copy of Halo: Reach in some form or another."

Sorry, BUT YOU"RE WRONG!

NO Halo games

It's not my style, I favor Eye Candy games (Batman, AC series, Gears, Alan Wake, etc) more.

Also, its plagued with alot of immature (not all) gamers.

@southernpredator I concur. I own a 360 and don't own any Halo games. I gave Halo: Reach a rent over a year after getting a 360, and didn't think it was anything special.

If you're looking for a game with "Immature" gamers, there are other games out there with a higher population of said gamers.
Just sayin'.

You know, there is always campaign or local play to avoid the children on Live. And I personally thought Reach was pretty nice looking, especially some of those big open levels; not sure why it doesn't make your cut for "eye candy" games.

@southernpredator well, microsoft actually made damn sure I had a copy of reach. First I got a copy of it for a birthday present. I played it and beat the campaign and played online for awhile. Although I had some fun i found I was getting bored (it was a good game i just feel like ive moved on from halo after years of playing it) so I gave it to my brother in law. Then I was selected for the live beta and got a copy of reah sent to me for testing. Once the beta was done that disc stopped working and they sent me a code for a digital copy. It's the game that just wont go away. Also, halo 3 was one of the best games on any console this generation. Bragging about not expirencing that while trying to disparage those of us who have only shows how ignorant you are.

I remember the Killtacular Map Pack, where bungie was like, "Okay kids! You can buy it now for $6, or wait a few months til it's free!"

And when you bought the map pack you could play two premium playlists in matchmaking.

Those were the days...now we're lucky if maps get discounted to $5.

@LaunchPadMcQuack
Yeah, those were better times. It sure was odd they'd state as much upfront, but then again Halo was and is popular enough that people will buy the maps day one regardless of that knowledge.

Related, is there any easy way to obtain the last two Halo 2 maps published? They aren't on the Multiplayer Map Pack disc, if memory serves me correctly. I'm pretty sure I have them saved to my 360 hard drive but don't know what I'll do in the event I lose that info.

Am I reading it wrong, or can you get Anchor 9, Tempest, and Breakpoint for free individually?

The free downloads are just trailers for the downloadable maps.

Not really halo relevant, but I am surprised to see Avatar tattoos on the "upcoming" list on Major Nelson's site. Kind of cool to finally have that, I guess, but I have no idea how they plan on effectively working that out.

... ok, I think barring the avatars from using guns is preposterous (especially ones with no real-world basis), but your apparent slight against tattoos is just, I don't know, goofy?

You can get the game for $15 on Ebay. Why would you buy this at $30 ???

Better yet, why would you ever buy Games on Demand unless you enjoy paying an extreme premium for digital convenience? The retail versions are almost always at least half the price.
