So basically this is just the next step up from those chinese MP3 and MP4 players that play tons of NES and Genesis games through emulator. giving it an Android face just makes it more high profile. Not being available until Dec 2012 is going to kill it's potentail for sales anywhere else but china where the Vita isnt likely to be out for some time even with the lower price.

Can we all agree that Fruit Ninja is the easiest game ever? I mean I'm not even sure if you can lose. Don't know why it's so successful.

@LittleMofreaky It's about trying to hit higher and higher scores which gets VERY hard, not dying for a while was never the premise of Fruit Ninja.

Asside from the PS icons, I don't see the big deal. Gameloft has made a business out of this kind of thing. And Nintendo should be happy that somebody thinks the Wii-U looks good enough to copy. Hell, this will probably sell more than the Wii-U. :-)

@Gemini Ace If you visit the site, it's a smorgasboard of stolen IP. They show emulated Nintendo titles running on it, all the app icons are nicked from iOS, etc.

I'm just impressed that it controlled that well without using the analog nubbin.

@baby sea tuna: Honestly, I'm not. Go back and play Mario 64 DS again using the D-Pad for movement. The characters' movement compensates for the lack of precision offered by an analog.

And yes, that WAS the DS, perhaps the control scheme was tweaked slightly to allow for this? Not likely. I've seen the original Mario 64 played on an emulator with a keyboard. Virtually the same result, from what I could tell.

All that segment of the video confirmed for me was that the tablet was most definitely running some re-purposed N64 emulator (as if anyone needed convincing).

I guess I could see some similarity to the Wii U controller (which is not the system), but did they really see that, and then design, engineer and manufacture this thing in the last 6 months since it was officially revealed? That's impressive!

No...it's not. All they did was take one of their existing tablets, tweak the resolution, and put it in that shell.

Okay, so I'm curious is it streaming the Nintendo games? So it's essentialy a tablet driven hardware platform for an onlive like service? Pretty ingenious honestly. Not something I'd ever buy but at 140 bucks not bad entry level for the hardware.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is and @Elrazner

Ah okay, so it's a platform based in large part around piracy. It'll do gangbusters in China and probably well in Russia but other markets will be a bit tougher. Too bad it looks to be a nice piece of kit too bad the model is based on emulators and romz which will prevent it from taking off in a lot of regions.
