The Metal Gear Solid snakeskin 3DS is not to be eaten
29
Despite its subtitle, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater should not encourage you to consume the snakeskin-embossed Nintendo 3DS coming out alongside the game in Japan. For starters, the device is a piece of electronics, and on top of that it's a rare, cool-looking limited edition 3DS.
Konami has yet to give the 3DS a full reveal, but the above image was teased via Hideo Kojima's Twitter account, like most things MGS these days. We'll keep an eye out for any other images slithering onto the internet before the game launches on March 8.

All it needs is a big chain attached to the corner and it'd pass for a wallet

Huh.
I kinda hoped it would look as good as the Big Boss PSP... but it's a teaser image, so perhaps the inner casing will look a bit more appealing.
Also, what happened to making consoles in clear or colour tinted see-through casings? Outside of case mods sold on eBay and so on; the last memorable one I can readily recall was the HALO green one...

Yeah, I think there was a crystal Panzer Dragoon Xbox 1 too. I guess there's just not a market for seeing your console's guts these days. Last time I was interested in seeing wires, it was through my clear beeper cover. (yes, I am "beeper old")

I've opened up a ps3 phat and there's not much to see past the plastic. Just metal and the bluray drive, and a small circuit board. You need to go down a layer to see the mother board and wires and such.

Full reveal? There isn't usually much to these except some addional printing on the top of the system, which is pretty much fully visible here. Unless..

Wow that looks really nice...I like my black one mainly because of the Ambassador perks but the snakeskin on it looks sick!

Just FYI, if you do a system transfer, it transfers over EVERYTHING, including Ambassador status/games. I had a blue one from launch, then transferred everything to a Zelda one, no issues, even when downloading the GBA games (which were released after the system transfer was enabled).

The tweet says something about more information and pricing by January 20, so probably that means either a full reveal or something bigger than this.
