This is NOT a gaming comic, so downvote me if you really want, but I thought it was cute.

@aray48
Staff leaving is definitely not a joke, and I have no intention of making light of it. And it can be a tough and emotional thing for readers to go through, speaking from personal experience. And I know that it's often much harder on the woman than on the man. However, I also know that it doesn't necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of your life. People can move past it, and heal.

VG Cats is "shmeh" to me now. Even when it updates every few months, it's only worth a chuckle or two.

It used to be one of the funniest ones, IMO, but obviously it's well past its prime and Scott needs to put it and his fans out of that misery. This new one is not funny by any stretch of the imagination.

VGCats updated, which means it's going to win, as if implying that updating once every 10 months is enough to make up for being unfunny.

Nerf Now and Penny Arcade made me laugh once more, but I have to give it to Brawl in the Family for the lovely and light-hearted song to go along with the comic. Very well done!

I only check a handful of these comics outside of this wrap up. I'm really going to miss the wrap up. Aww Joystiq, I'm still going to love you but I'm going to miss all the things you guys are losing :(

Also, major BitF awesomeness gets my vote. Which is saying something from a pretty strong week.

@ThePotato Normally I'd completely agree with you, but this is the webcomic round up. It's main goal is to link to the webcomics and the posts generally are just editorials about whatever the writer feels like discussing. Meaning, I generally only read the first few lines and just to the comics unless it catches my interest. Also, I can see how the title is confusing to some and it could of been worded a little better.

Oh my god VG Cats please vacate the planet. Every time it updates, it's either some weird crotchety "WHY ARE GAMES IN HIGH DEFINITION?", or it's a punchline that people made months ago.

The joke this time is that the "fus ro dah" thing is known to the few but prominent online. The punchline is real-life minority. ...Laugh.

Jason got the shaft. Screw Zordon for taking away his leadership role with no (in-universe) explanation.

@TheDarkWayne Yeah, but when Tommy became leader, they had all switched zords. Tommy had a white tiger that looked awesome but that kept running into mountains and tripping on its back. Jason had an eastern dragon that turned into a robot that could RIDE the tiger like a steed! He was clearly the more awesome leader one at that point, White Ranger powers be damned.

Wow, the Nerf Now one is incredibly true. Whenever somebody lists modding as a reason for PC gaming being superior, for allowing games to unleash their true potential, that's the only stuff I can think. Ridiculous anime girl reskins and nude mods.

Perhaps you should browse the Skyrim mod database and be enlightened since your viewpoint, while comical and not entirely off-base, is unfortunately narrow.

Enjoyed damn near each comic this week. High class for Jordan and the Wrapup to pay tribute to the leaving editors. No NCV and no Brentalfloss makes for a pretty good post this week.

Happy New Year everyone. May 2012 treat you right and the Stiq prosper in its new leadership.

Very strong end to 2011 in the webcomic world. Can it continue into 2012? A lot of them gave me a smile, but BitF has to get the vote for the effort in the song, and it's funny/true as well.

I'll admit to being worried by the fact that so many people appear to be leaving. Joystiq's biggest appeal for me was always the quality of writing, which is usually very high, and far above most game-blogs.

I guess we'll see how things go.

Maybe they should change it to the Webcomic Wrapup Whenever Funny, or something. Not really, but it does usually suck, and that's not blame I can pin on Joystiq.

I am happy to say that four or five of these made me smirk though, which is much more than usual.
