It looks like Crystal Dynamics is up to more than Lara Croft's latest reboot. Posting on the Square Enix Members blog, Crystal Dynamics community manager Meagan Marie revealed that, in addition to Tomb Raider, the company is also "hard at work preparing to reveal exciting new intellectual property to the world." Exactly what that property is remains a mystery, though studio head Darrell Gallagher promised that 2012 will be "the biggest year in Crystal's history" and that there are "amazing things" in store.
The obvious question: Is Gex old enough to be considered new again?

Ahhh Gex, how I fondly remember you. Wouldn't mind seeing that getting rebooted in some way.

I'm completely down with this. After all, 2011 was the year of the "threequel."

I loved the Gex's! 2 and 3 were kind of rough but the humor was some of the best in videogames.

Putting old info together with the new.
Old info: Square Enix has licensed the Unreal engine for an unannounced RPG.
New info: Crystal Dynamics is making a new game based on a new IP.
I call open world fantasy RPG for the western world to get people to STFU about how jrpgs are cliché.

You know, I have some pretty damn great memories of the 3DO despite it's place in history.
It was my first CD system in 1996.
It has my favorite port of Street Fighter.
It had FMV that was actually fun to watch.
I couldn't get over how COOL it was.
Screw all the new stuff coming. Joystiq, thanks for bring back those memories.

P.S.
The image of Gex is synonymous with "3DO" for me. When I got the system, Gex was included. And the game was the 3DO's "Mario".

I think the REAL question is: is Dana Gould too old to voice Gex?

A new Gex would be awesome...very awesome. I hope Crystal Dynamics turns the last days/years of the PS3 into an HD PS1 collection (of sequels/new installments, not just updates)!!
