The Bit Trips were supposed to be 8-bit though surely? Kind of loses the theme of the rest of the series.

My guess on the above art style; as you progress and string together jumps/item pickups, the games art evolves from the simplistic "8-bit" style to a smooth 64-bit style. We'll see the various stages of graphic evolution through gameplay.

That in itself is kind of a cool idea - but if the gameplay is still overly simplistic run/jump - I'm not sure if it'll hold my appeal for long. I lost interest in the first one after a few levels... maybe if it had more blood and boobs :)
