While it sadly didn't make it into our top ten list for 2011, Rayman Origins is arguably one of the most beautiful games of 2011, if not ever. And now our starved-for-visuals friends across the pond with 3DSes get to experience it before us.
Well, okay, we only assume they'll get first crack -- Ubisoft has yet to comment on a North American launch date, instead affixing a vague Q1 2012 time-frame to the title. Rayman Origins will launch on the 3DS on March 16 across Europe, Official Nintendo Magazine confirms. Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii versions have been available in the region since back in November.
We've contacted Ubisoft to see when Rayman Origins 3DS will launch in North America and will update this post accordingly.

This is the version I have waited for. Day 1 for sure. I can't wait to see how those gorgeous graphics pop in 3D!

I can't wait to play this. My niece has it for Wii, and even if it's not in HD, it's a fantastic looking game. I hope it looks just as sharp in 3D.

Don't make me import this, ubisoft. Please bring it to NA for ray's sake.

@Mmmmz I forgot about that... WELL SHIT! I guess I'll never get to play the 3DS version.

Maybe some people (a lot of people) haven't bought the game and want to play the same version you are on a portable console.

I'm kind of glad about the delay between the console and 3ds versions, I hope the delay means they took their time and made a handheld edition worthy of its console counterparts.

Aww, how cute. Someone who thinks they're witty...
Where is Ubisoft headquartered? No, don't get up! You might break something. I'll tell you:
Montreuil, France
Now excuse my while I continue to roll my eyes at your attempt to make something out of nothing...

Speaking of Rayman Origins, the versions that are already released i.e. 360, PS3 & Wii are currently $20.00 at Toys R Us. I just bought a copy for the 360. I'm not sure how long the sale will last though.

Already Platinumed the PS3 version, and it's pretty much my No.1 GotY.
I'd love to play it in 3D, but, you know, REGION LOCK.
(Eff you, Nintendo)

@Zolbrod Platinumed, huh? Man, I'm almost at the end of the game but I'm worried sick about those Speed trials.

Is the 3DS version going to be 4 player also?
If so... how do I convince two friends to pick it up? I can easily buy it for myself and my fiance, but the other two... hmmmmm. I can buy it for one as a birthday gift he didn't want or ask for. The fourth though... the fourth.
Actually, I really don't want to buy three copies. Two I'll do.
I should just get it for a console and bypass all this.
I find the chance of it being single cart play being unlikely... but possible I guess?

They're releasing this game for 3DS as well? Very, very tempting to buy it, but... I ought to start saving up for a PS Vita. Then I could enjoy this game in HD, and would be even more beautiful. Ahh! What to do, what to do? Buying a PS Vita partly for this game feels a little bit pointless when two systems I have (Wii, 3DS) can play it anyway.

I have a similar dilemma...I could buy the game on 3DS, a console I already own, or buy it for Vita. I want a Vita but I'm not sure I need two handhelds, despite my wanting both. Uncharted Golden Abyss, Ninja Gaiden, Gratify Crash (sp?) look great. My conundrum is whether HD graphics on Vita trump SD 3D found on 3DS. I wish the games were significantly different as I want to buy both!
Perhaps ill just buy the 360/ps3 version- its only $20 and wait for a 3ds or vita version to similarly drop in price :-p

Hmm while it's tempting, I already own the 360 version. Maybe I'll buy the 3DS version when it's marked down to $20 or if my friends coerce me into getting it for the sake of co-op (does it have co-op?). Unless it doesn't come out here in the states. Then my wallet can be a little heavier and those thoughts/decisions won't come into play.
