Why does it sound like there is a cat purring in Luddy's mic?

This episode couldn't have ended better. However, Red Eye is now the saddest song in my iTunes collection...

Okay, lovefest is over, and now I have to disagree with Chris :P And yes, I am totally a Dark Souls fanboy, hence the need to reply.

The camera is a totally fair point, and it can legitimately get you killed in a heartbeat at times. However, the auto-adjustment of the camera can be disabled in the options, which greatly improves things. Turning it off is viewed as an absolute necessity for some of the narrow ledges and PVP. But yeah, still totally bonkers that the default option is awful when a better option is only a click away.

It also seems odd to criticize Dark Souls for having some glitches, none of which I know of break the game, when Skyrim has had far more issues, some of them quest breaking, but gets the #1 spot.

They made online play more stable and made it alot more likely to find co-op partners with the latest patch.

I honestly don't get the UI complaints on Dark Souls. They aren't great, but they also aren't horrible. I found them more usable than some other current gen RPGs, like the original Mass Effect, Fable 2 and even Skyrim. Dear god, I hate the inventory management and menu design of Skyrim. I think it's gotten overlooked because of the world, but that's not a good system.

This podcast is the reason I started going to Joystiq a few years ago. It's sad to see the end of an era. Looking forward to what each of the guys does in the future. Despite the exodus of our two heroes (among others), there is still a lot of good talent remaining at Joystiq. As far as Joystiq podcasts go, I would personally like to see the old X3F crew combined with Luddy. Also, please bring back the old format where you talk about what you been playing and just being silly. I really miss that.

You made water come out of my eyes.

For the last two years I looked forward to every episode and it was a great ride. Thank you for that, Luddy, Chris and Justin.
