I'm so torn on whether to buy MKAK.
I don't even have the nostalgia and don't plan to play online...

Well the online is terrible anyway. But how can you be torn if you have neither the nostalgia nor the will to play others in it?

I only vaguely want it because I like doing battle with the cheap AI.

@ChaosBladez Unless you still get excited over fatalities in 2012, probably skip it. Mortal Kombat didn't have much else going for it back then.

It's the cheapest arcade fighter I can remember, I couldn't even get past the 1st battle half the time. You'll find little, if any, change between difficulty between very easy and very hard. Then there's the issue where if you pause, when unpausing the controls lock up for a second or two leaving you wide open, and it also makes looking up fatalities impossible.

And I heard the online was laggy. Online is the only reason I'd consider it, if they haven't fixed that then I'll just take out the Sega Saturn to get my MK fix.

You can get the game they should have updated and released on PSN/XBLA, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, for pretty cheap used on PSOne.

I'd go that route if you don't care about online play and don't want to play the cheap (though great looking) arcade versions.

I think it happened once and like 4 games total went on sale. I think one was the bowling game.

@Jawmuncher Agreed. They did a small one for the anniversary of the PS1 but it was 1 game a week for like 4/5 weeks. They need to do a big one though.

I want to get The Heist just because I love cooperative play but I just know my online regular games like Battfield 3 and GT5 will knock it on the back burner.

Aww. I thought this meant twelve games for $12.

Has anyone tried Bloodrayne? How is it?

@moro Controls are wonky/floaty. I've only played the demo but it was enough to turn me off of the game. ESPECIALLY having to run in the opposite direction just to jump further in the opposite direction I just ran.

Hmmm might get Payday: The Heist. The demo was interesting enough, but it was kind of confusing at times. I was hoping Limbo would've gotten a sale

I'm torn because I feel like I should play it because I like the new one so much.
I probably am way too late and it won't mean anything to me but I can't shake that impulse of wanting to buy it.

They need to start pricing competatively with Steam.

I guarantee if they cut all those prices by 75%, they'd get 10x as many sales (which means more money overall). Valve and Apple realized this a long time ago - get with the times!

Agreed. I don't even play games on my PC and own exactly one Steam game, but seeing a game on sale on Steam for $2.50 and then seeing it on sale on XBLA a couple weeks later for $7.50 (as was the case with Orcs Must Die) is a complete turnoff.

Microsoft's sales have been awful recently. Usually I buy a bunch of games during the holiday season but this past year I didn't buy any. I probably would've purchased Beyond Good and Evil when it was $3 but my account was on lock down from being hacked.

I may be spoiled by steam sales, but 30% off doesn't sound to enticing.

IMO it should be 50% off to non ps+ and 75% off to ps+ subscribers. That would sell tons more. Ask valve if there are any doubts left.

@Dante G

I came here to say the same thing... 30% off is nice, at least it IS a sale. But after being spoiled by steam so many times with 50-90% off even relatively new games I just can't be bothered to get excited over something like this.

Pixeljunk and Dungeon Defenders are definitely worth it, for anybody unsure. PJ has amazing music and though short, really scratches that high-score itch if you dig on that kina thing. Dungeon Defenders is some of the most fun Co-op I've played in a long, long while. Period.
