I can't believe they combined warzone and execution again. I thought it sucked in gears 2 then they separated them. Please epic I want to play straight execution.

^^^ When the two types are combined in a playlist, nobody ever votes for Warzone anyway, bro. I like WZ, but it just doesn't get chosen.
I'm more interested/ frustrated with how difficult it is to actually play the new maps in a public game. I haven't checked today, but as of yesterday, the only playlists that seemed to include the Fenix maps were Alpha Execution and Stay Frosty Experimental Warzone, both of which are one life, single round encounters. This is my problem with map packs; you alienate and segregate your own playerbase. People who don't feel like paying ten dollars for some maps (plenty of normal people and just about all PC players who remember when maps were always free) are excluded and you only get to play with the smaller percentage of people who DID buy them. Also, in that case, you usually have to use a playlist that includes the DLC maps and ONLY the DLC maps.

@Wizardsofwaverly And technically Gears of War 3 is just a shooter...what's your point.

The first map 'flown through' isn't bad. I joined some friends last night as they beat 50 waves of Horde on it. I only got waves 39-50 myself, but it was a pretty good map and it was nice to see a brighter map.

Why is the general gaming media NOT reporting that Epic has denied people to play on dedicated servers who do not purchase this latest installment of DLC. Further, they are deleting any thread on their forum that points this out asking for a comment or clarification.
When we purchased the game, we were told we would have dedicated servers. Now, they only let those without the new content play in a "Player's Choice" playlist.
Joystiq, can you guys and gals please run an article on this? I find it highly unethical that Epic would do this.

@newtype I see where ur coming from but the people that buy the map packs want to be able to use them on their favorite game type not be required to go to a map pack playlist and have to play a different game type.

I completely understand that side of the coin, but that shouldn't be something the consumer should have to think about. If Epic wants to sell additional maps and content, they should have the systems in place to do so effectively without splitting the already small community down the middle.
People should be able to use their new content how they want, and players with the shipped content should be able to use that content how they want.
