Okay concept, but I fail to see how it could be faster, easier or more efficient than pressing the button. Saying "Garrus, concussive shot" at a pace that it can understand, waiting for the speech engine to decipher what you said, and then the wait for that to process surely can't be faster or any less effort than pressing left on the d-pad..

I can say from experience the difference between sorcerers and sages is stupid big. There's a whole 2 second delay on one of our abilities compared to the instant attack of their "mirror" ability. Mirror classes? HA! Don't make me laugh.

I'm gonna check out the forums.

The Kinect in its current implementation is a step backwards for gaming. I love the technology and see potential uses for it, but none of those involve me controlling a video game the same way one would control it with a standard dual-analog controller. The Kinect suffers the same problem as the wiimote in that there is a delay between the user telling the game to do something and the game actually doing it. Another problem is that motion controls are not immersive unless there is physical feedback. Finally, when I play a game, I want to do it splayed out in an office chair or on my couch. I don't want to work up a sweat because I play games to unwind. Making me to sit-ups is not going to improve my opinion of a game.

That isn't to say that the Kinect need be entirely removed from gaming applications. Far from it. The Kinect should instead be used to add content to a game. I have seen the Kinect used to create models in Minecraft in real time. What if this were applied to other games. For example, in a driving game, what if you had a really nice model of a classic car that you wanted to drive in-game. You could have the Kinect scan the car and then create a representation of it within the game. You could also can yourself sitting in your arm chair and drive that around the track. The Kinect is wonderful for content creation (of course there will be people who scan their naughty bits and post it online) but on the whole, I would love to see what developers could do with the Kinect in this context.

I'm looking forward to playing it with Kinect. I love the thing, but it just doesn't get enough use.
