They got it right this time with the character selection! We are Legion!
He's the only one I actually will buy and not feel silly for it...

I'm pretty sure the DLC is multiplayer only. From Bioware's website:

"These products contain codes that can be redeemed for a downloadable content pack for Mass Effect 3 multi-player. They are slightly randomized during the registration and could include powerful new weapons and new characters. The pack could also include character boosters, weapon modifications, and weapon upgrades to make your multi-player squad stronger."

Bonus DLC for this is getting confusing to me. I will either, A: purchase all of it in one big pack(if available) to ensure I get it all without having to deal with all these random promotions, or B: not get any of it.

Does anyone else feel like it's impossible to get the full game experience anymore? Without purchasing every piece of random merch that accompanies the release of the game?

I concur. It's not something I actively think about, but I somewhat recently picked up ME2 for PS3, as well as all of the DLC armour/weapons, and I can't imagine playing it without them, which is kind of bumming me out for ME3.

@Darklink2009 Or not getting DLC at all cause you're playing on a certain console. That irritates me.

@Darklink2009 It makes waiting a year and getting the GOTY edition more viable.

Especially when some content is only in the GOTY edition, ROCKSTAR.

The armour/weapon DLC for ME2 was pretty forgettable. I think I used the black whole generator heavy weapon on the rare occasion I actually used a heavy weapon but the rest of the items I wouldn't have noticed if they were gone.

This is unfortunate. Whatever the DLC is, I want it. I don't care if it's alternate underwear for Grunt. Yet I have zero interest in action figures.

I just want Garrus and Mordin action figures so they can brofist or high five. If that just happen to unlock the same in the game, that would blow my mind.

When EA became the publishers for Mass Effect, I was so excited, because I was finally able to play one of the most beloved series on my PS3. Now I'm not so sure. Because as much as I love Mass Effect, and so many other great games this generation, I hate how publishers like EA, Capcom and Activision are milking every dime they can get out us. Toys with DLC may have worked well for Skylanders, a new IP built around the idea, but to shoehorn this into Mass Effect is just ridiculous.

Greedy publishers are killing this industry, and we're helping them.

I don't understand why anybody prefers the default male shep. He looks Mexican yet has a tightassed White man sounding voice that doesn't fit at all. I tried playing as the default but couldn't stop thinking about this.

Am I the only person who was primarily interested because I would like to own the action figures? Having some sort of DLC that I likely will only try once is just a bonus.

This isn't nearly like the EA/Mtn Dew campaign.

Collectors are gonna hate this. They are gonna have to go without the code, unless they wanna open the package, which destroys value.
Won't matter to me. If i even get them, the codes wouldn't matter to me. Not much on multiplayer in most games and probably won't spend much time on ME3's mp, either. The storyline is my main attraction. Gotta see what happens to my Shepard!

It never fails. A developer offers additional content and we complain because we don't like how it's packaged. We feel cheated, in some way. How dare they try to use THEIR successful franchise to make money! This unrealistic perception of entitlement is really getting old.

@Wise Men

The delivery method is the problem.

Why should anyone have to purchase 5 Sheps in order to receive the 2 random upgrades available through this promotion? $3 worth of DLC packaged around a $15+ action figure?

But forget about purchasing them for standard pricing, much like anything today there will be artificial scarcity created by speculators who dash to and fro buying as many as possible in order to make a profit on eBay, Craigslist, etc.

And this is my real problem with this promotion; packaging a digital item on a tangible item that individuals can purchase with intent to re-sell.

Right. As I said in my original post. Gamers have issue because of how it's packaged. That in itself amazes me. We have issue with how it's packaged.

It sounds like you don't feel that it's packaged in a way that feels fair to you. I think that feeling comes from this sense of entitlement that you have about the content.

The truth is we don't get to tell a company how to package ADDITIONAL content. Everything is not OWED to us. This is multiplayer DLC in an RPG and we are complaining because of how it's packaged?

I'm referring to this unrealistic perception of entitlement that gamers have...it really baffles me. We complain if DLC is there, we complain if it's not, we complain about how it's packaged, we complain if it is only available with new copies of a game, we complain if there is no multiplayer, we complain if there IS multiplayer. When does it end?

I am all for voicing our opinion to ensure that we are getting a complete game experience for the money we pay...but when we start complaining about how multiplayer DLC content, for an RPG is packaged, I think we are being unreasonable.
