PEGI: Silent Hill 2 and 3 separated from HD Collection on XBLA and PSN
29
The Silent Hill HD Collection is set to launch for retailers on March 6, containing remastered versions of Silent Hill 2 and 3 on a single disc, in the same distribution pattern as the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders collections -- that much we knew. But new PEGI ratings suggest Konami also plans to release Silent Hill 2 HD and Silent Hill 3 HD separately, most likely through XBLA and PSN, just as it did with the previous collections.
March is Silent Hill madness month, with the HD Collection hitting March 6, Silent Hill: Downpour on March 13, and the Vita's Book of Memories on March 27.

@Danzaiver Maybe they didnt have time, or it wasnt going to be a silent hill game to begin with? But i agree, SH4 was awesome and scared the shit out of me. Especially in the 1st person apartment sections. I was always scared to come out of my room in the game. LOL

I guess if this collection sells well there will be a SH collection 2 & 3 featuring SH1+4 and SH:Origins+SH:SM.

When I first bought Silent Hill 3 it came with the soundtrack. Scariest ost ever, except for the first song, which was actually kind of catchy. The rest of the soundtrack though...

What I really would have loved for them to do is an HD remake of the very first game. I'm not talking about Shattered Memories, but the actual first Silent Hill. What they could have done is redo the it with at least PS2 level graphics that have then been touched up so that the game could be easily viewed on an HD television. Had I had my way, I would have done not only that, but also include SH 4. I know that that particular installment began life as some other game, but eventually turned out to be 4, but it still had the same atmosphere and intensity of the other three games in the series.

I loved Silent Hill 2 and 3, but this collection is pretty weak. I can understand not having the original Silent Hill, because it is much older and probably requires more work to present HD textures, lighting, crisper effects... but to not have Silent Hill 4 or at least one of the entries from the PSP library?
Even the Metal Gear collection offered Peace Walker to make it a satisfying "trilogy" - even though I would have much preferred the original Metal Gear Solid to have been remade.

Cool, never played those two because they were insanely expensive.

Never played silent hill... but is that a person in a bunny suit covered in blood? That's creepy as hell!

If you are tempted, try 2 first. That amy seem obvious, but sometimes there is the thought 'well 3 is later than 2, so it must be better, right?' Nope, 2. Always 2.

Forgive me if there has been past news about this,
But the article says that the" HD Collection" will contain Silent Hill 2 and 3 but not the first game. Is there any reason why they can't fit Silent Hill 1 in the collection?

Can't wait! Silent Hill is the *best* survival horror series out there! "Psychological Mindscrew" is a good way to describe it without using profanity. :)
I wasn't very impressed with #2, but #3 is great. :) Thanks so much for re-releasing these! Super stoked.
Please re-release "#1" and "The Room" next. :) Great games, really scary.

And I don't expect that the XBLA version will have the extra audio track for the original Silent Hill 2 voices either.

Is it me or is it strange that it's called a "collection" when there's only...like...2 games of the series?
Anyway, 2 is probably my favorite and one of my top 5 games of all time, I didn't like 3 and I'm a bit disappointed that 4 isn't included, as that's my second favorite SH game. It's also cool how the stories and/or references intertwine with each other, like 1 and 3 are connected and 2 and 4 are connected in a way that they both reference each other.
The thing I'll miss though is the original voice actors, as Konami shafted them so hearing James or Eddie or anyone else with a different voice will be jarring.

I heard you can switch the voices from the new to old on #2 (fantastic btw) however for #3 it isn't an option. Correct me if I'm wrong.
