During this week's PlayStation Blogcast, on which our own Ludwig Kietzmann is a "special guest," PlayStation Sr. Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman (yay, alliteration!) confirmed the planned multiplayer demo for Twisted Metal would hit PSN next week, on January 31.
If you like your manslaughter a bit less vehicular, you may want to check out a demo for another February-bound title, EA's rebooted Syndicate. It will also be a multiplayer demo, focusing on the game's co-op side, but you already knew that. Who needs expensive implants and cool tech for remembering things? Not you, buddy!

I can not wait for this game. This is my most anticipated PS3 exclusive game of '12 (Starhawk was #1 but now after the beta it is at my bottom). It is going to be awesome crazy action.
People better pick up this game. This is something the gaming industry needs not another typical FPS game. Especially how much they are putting into this game.
Most multiplayer games come with 8-10 maps but Twisted has 30+ maps. Story, co-op, 4 play split, bots, online. You can tell Eat Sleep Play put a ton of work into this.
So i'm glad to support a developer who tries hard and hopefully have it pay off.

30+ maps? Dang dude I was barely looking forward to this game, but that made me think about it a little more. Just thought it would be okay. But you know, I spent a lot of time playing Twisted Metal 2 when I first got a PS2. Haha. No saving for me, but it was worth it... I'll prolly buy this soon. They really need to advertise it though! C'mon! A series has been around this long, it deserves it for its comeback.

@lenandude It's only 8 core maps. But they make thirty or so maps out of them ranging in size an what not.

@Hawaii Jeff
Do you even know how the Online Pass even works?
If everyone/anyone buys the game new they will have free access to online play. If you wait to buy use, you will have to pay $10 for the Online Pass. Seems fair since the Dev put a lot of time into this and deserves to get paid.

I really enjoyed Twisted Metal back on the PSone. The first and second games were engaging and fun because nothing had really come before it. Twisted Metal Black was boring and I think the franchise is kind of dead. At least to me it is. I can't even go on the nostalgia factor as it's just one of those franchises that had its moment in the sun (for me) and then got really boring, really fast.

I'll pass on the demo, since my wife already pre-ordered me a copy for my Valentine's Day present.
Still, I can't wait to play it.
