Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space episode 1 now on iOS
11
The first episode of Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space (i.e. season two) is now available for iOS. The episode, entitled "Ice Station Santa," is a universal app, meaning it should work swimmingly on either the iPhone or iPad.
The iOS version includes a handful of bonuses not seen in previous versions, including a Sam & Max soundboard and a standalone version of the "Whack da Rats" mini-game from season one.
Those looking for puzzles and puns can pick up the episode for $7 from iTunes.

Out of curiosity, why are these Telltale games so damned expensive on iPad? I bought the first season of this on XBL for like $10 iirc. Sucks because tablets are a natural platform for these games.

On a whim, I'm going to hazard a guess that it may be for quality and size.
The general rule of most mobile stores, especially the Apple App store, is that you aren't ever guaranteed quality save for the publisher/developer's name. Telltale's fairly well associated with quality, especially with Sam & Max.
On top of that, it's a relatively large title for a mobile title, at least in length. I will point out that it's about 1/3 the price of the L&O Legacies season pass, so again, I'm thinking the Sam & Max name has something to do with it.
Also, am I alone in thinking "So why on earth isn't Sam & Max Season 1 on the appstore yet?" I loved season 1 and I'd think it should get ported before season 2. Devil's Playhouse I can understand, as it was sort of an early voyage into iTerritory for the dog and rabbitything, but again I'd think they would work on a Mac and iDevice port for season 1.

There's never been any rhyme or reason to Telltale's decision to put stuff on iOS. It'll probably show up there, eventually.

You may be right about the licensing fees. I wanted to get the BTTF games a while back but I remember them being equally expensive. I guess my only real issue with the prices is due to the fact that I've gotten a ton of games for my iPad in the past year, but all I end up playing is Tiny Tower (free) and Jetpack Joyride ($1) while everything else just sort of clutters up my home screen.
First world problems...

Maybe it's just too old at this point.

I think I bought all 3 seasons on Steam for like $13 or something when they were on sale. This seems really expensive for just one episode...

Just picked this up for PC at a local bookstore for $2 and I'm debating whether to install it or not since I haven't played the first season.
Are they linked together or can I just jump right in? I've played some of Episodes 1 and 4, never finished either of them, though.

The stories aren't THAT connected, but there's a quite a few callback jokes.

Do want! when it goes on sale for 2.99 an episode or cheaper. That would be worth it to replay on my iPad 2 (I already own the games on telltales digital client for pc.) =)
