Until the tile of the game scrolled onto the screen, I thought this was something some guy put on Youtube and you were just trolling us. Apparently not.

@Ryan P

Agreed. Very ineffective ad. Without the title at the end, you had no idea this was in any way related to Kinect.

@FlashJS It doesnt matter. They know that people will want to buy the game, solely on the idea that the game is exactly like that. Unfortunately I feel like it kind of leads on consumers but its an effective commercial.

"Swing and a miss!" I wonder if that is an attempt at foreshadowing for this game.

Ah, the old, "not showing footage of our game, because it looks pretty bad", trick. Classy!

But seriously, this is great! I bet Molyneux will now try a Lord of the Rings parody for the trailer of Fable: The Journey.

The end of episode 3 Yoda tells Obi-wan that there's a secret of immortality he wants to teach him. I think it has to do with that and even Yoda fades away when he dies.

he becomes one with the force. Thats why you see the blue version of him at the end of episode 6

Even with that 'long lost Force power' explanation... it still doesn't explain why Yoda and Obi Wan appear as they were when they died and Vader's ghost appears as Hayden Christensen in the messed up version of Jedi.

When did Anakin learn that trick anyway? That's not a snide question... I know there's probably a Star Wars fandom explanation for it, I really don't know.

@HandsomeBoyGraduate The explanation is that George Lucas isn't the genius we thought he was when we were younger, and he tried to explain it all too much. My explanation as a child was that they were both so in-tune with the force that they simply vanished rather than suffer death. Vader was not. But that didn't prevent their spirits from coming back to visit.

But no, Lucas had to take away all the magic in exchange for glaring plot holes. :\

All I can say is, they are lucky they're releasing the game with that sweet R2 360.

What would have made this trailer absolutely perfect would be to have an achievement unlocked for sacrificing himself, rather than coming back in his underwear, or at least him boasting about Vader giving him the achievement.

I'm sad that the article doesn't mention that this "idiot" is Chris Pratt from Parks & Recreation. Even if it is a shite trailer for the game, it's a shining moment for him.

Odd trailer for a game. Besides that, the game is actually pretty fun. I've played the pod racing, Rancor, and whatever part it is when you play as Kit Fisto. It was pretty smooth for a demo. Hopefully they actually give a release date for the damn thing soon.

Chris Pratt (Andy from Parks and Rec) is great in this. The only way I'd buy a Kinect is if it was (unfortunately) bundled in with the next gen Xbox system and I didn't have a choice, but let's hope the game companies "put away childish things when they become men." I would love to see the whole motion control novelty be seen as the gimmick it is and never touched upon again.

Can't decide if I hate the trailer for making light of one of the most serious scenes in the series, or if I love it for being self-conscious of the general joke that the Star Wars films (and more particularly THIS GAME) have become. >_

Too long of a stay - like most of today's Saturday Night Live skits (as compared to generations ago). It's funny the first few seconds, then overdone/unfunny. Gut out most of it, keep the beginning and end moments....you're welcome.

According to Lucas, Obi Wan's story to Luke about Vader "killing" Anakin Skywalker is meant to be taken literally. Once Anakin became Vader, Anakin ceased to exist, so his ghost is the last representation of Anakin Skywalker.

That's all well and good, if you don't consider the original Star Wars trilogy to be the redemption story of Anakin Skywalker, and you discount the Luke's driving ambition through RotJ being redeeming his father, and the part where Vader saves Luke and (in reference to Luke's belief that there still was good in Vader) says, "You were right, Luke. Tell your sister, you were right."

Then you just need to ignore the implication that redemption from the Dark Side is impossible, which would mean that every Jedi would, eventually, be damned to eternity as a Sith once they gave in to temptation, analogous to humanity's understanding of black holes before the discovery of Hawking Radiation.

The original belief was that nothing could escape a black hole, but if that were true, all of existence would eventually be devoured by black holes.

If you forget all of that stuff, ghost Hayden Christiansen makes perfect sense.

And thanks for tossing it down here, completely removed from the conversation I was trying to take part in.
