It's crazy that this game is nearly 20 years old. Being about 9 at the time I was blown away that a computer could do this. It has become a bit of local pride for me since Trilobyte was based in southern Oregon. If I remember correctly they opened up shop back here some time ago when they release the iOS version of 7th Guest.

@JohnDM
I grew up down there as well.
I think some of the scenes were shot in Jacksonville.

If I remember correctly, 11th Hour has a scene shot on the main street of Grants Pass, OR, which I thought was awesome since I live there. Back in that day it seemed crazy to see something like that in a video game.

@vidjagamer Well Trilobyte was actually based in Jacksonville for 7th Guest. Their office was right above a bar where they did the programming, and I think filming as well. There's a house that's a few blocks away that serves as the basis for the Stauff house too.

Then after 7th Guest's success they moved to Medford into a large brick bank that was for sale. Unfortunately 11th Hour wasn't a huge success, in part to execs wanting it to be more 'mature' and that derailed the project a bit.

As it so happens I still live in Medford, have been just about all my life.

Wow, I literally JUST installed the scummVM compatible version of 7th Guest to my PSP. I have a complete boxed copy of 7th Guest on my shelf, and I've never played it before. Figured I'd give it a whirl.

Also, great promotion for DotEmu. I had never heard of them, and apparently they're another company like GoG.

@Marzz Yeah DotEmu are great. Have bough quite a few game from them already. They usually have decent weekend offers as well. Although their selection might not be as good as GOG's with all the casual games and what not. Still, would recommend them.

So, how long before the exclusivity deal ends and these drop on GOG?

@Shadow Hog

Didn't think it'd be that soon. Hope that means they're not done with the Eidos releases.

@Worsel

I secretly still want one to feel the AWE...fulness of that system.

Burn Cycle...sure. It seemed to fit the bill of a "better-than-average game", but man, that edutainment system was not the best around.

Thank goodness Nintendo allowed quality products to be made of their most pretigious mascots...

Awesome, I always wanted to play these, but never got round to them.
Although, uh, I can probably still wait until they get a bit cheaper...

Man, this takes me back. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Phantasmagorias re-released. And Ripper, but only because my copy of Ripper had a defective disc and wouldn't run (some 15 years ago).... also, because it has Christopher Walken in it.

Hell, wrap all 5 of these up into a package, throw it on Steam as some "Retro Point-and-Click Horror" deal, and sell it for $10 or $15.

@djenkins83 I believe it. I still have mine packed away somewhere. My best friend and I spent hours huddled around the computer playing these games. Good times.

If you check GOG's news feed, the games are hitting there "soon", and I personally would prefer to buy them there.

I remember playing this years ago on my grandm's computer and it being pretty damn terrifying. If they put this on Steam, I'd hop on it.
