I really hope this game turns out great, I loved True Crimes, but I didn't play TC2 once I heard how broken the game was.

I am so happy that this game was saved and to be honest I am much happier now knowing that when it is released it will likely be a much better game than the one Activision would have released.

I hope it's good just to annoy Activision. Will be interesting to play an open world game not set in the US. My heart sank when GTAIV was announced to be New York, and then sank into my shoes and out onto the floor when V was bloody LA again. Hopefully they nail the atmosphere and sense of place, like say Shenmue or Yakuza did.

Was I the only one who saw Nathan Drake in that image?! A slightly Asian Drake.

The last time I remember Activision dropping games was Brutal Legend, Ghostbusters and Chronicles of Riddick:AoDA. All 3 of which ended up getting around 80% on gamerankings and metacritic.

I enjoyed all 3 of those games and Square have been doing very well with the games that got from Eidos. Very hopeful for how Sleeping Dogs ends up doing.

Only slight worry is that GTA5 comes out this year. They do not want to release close to it.

This could be a big hit or... not. I hope for the former. I think they've found a cool niche. I liked games like GTAIV - but I never felt like a total badass. And then with a game like Prototype I felt so powerful-- too powerful-- and the world felt lifeless and dull.

A setting that isn't in New York, hand-to-hand combat, exciting set pieces... there's a lot to like here.

I predict this game will be good, or bad. Possibly even okay.

Don't hold me to my word though...

I for one was really looking forward to this game, it's like they took the one good thing from wheelman (crazy car hoping) and combined it with the juganut that is grand theft auto, and adding the story from the departed (best movie ever!) , to me that equals 100% epic.
Looking forward to see what a team like that can do to a game that already looked so promising and hoping that cod-co (activision) will eat there words😃

@Smits1991 If you want to REALLY get into the Sleeping Dogs mood, check out Infernal Affairs, the Hong Kong movie that The Departed remade. (There was also a prequel and a sequel!)

"We're not making iPhone games here, right?"

Also, Activision will sue just before the game releases, like they did with that Jack Black game

I really wish they'd stop reminding me this isn't out yet. Just let me get on with my life until launch! Then I'm all yours!

Good story of a game with potential getting picked up and not becoming vaporware. I wish this happened more.

Also, nice to hear them aiming for a high metacritic score, which should be the no. 1 goal of any developer.

The number one goal of any developer should be to make a game that they would love to play. Appeasing the great aggregators is number five, four tops.

@Panic That should be the Number 1 thing you prove to your publisher throughout milestones.

Even though this article is old as shit and no one will read this, I have to say that you are correct, sir, and I stand corrected.

The uhh... phrase is "let sleeping does LIE." >.>

Why would you put down a sleeping dog? Is it sick? Just sayin'... its not only an article title incorrectly making use of a saying, but its a bit morbid given what its alluding to in an incorrect fashion.
