Though it still doesn't exist officially, God of War 4 is now available for pre-order at BT Games, a South African retailer. This is the same BT Games that leaked Mass Effect 3's multiplayer and the Jak and Daxter Collection's, so there's precedence for this being more than an ambitious placeholder. We've also confirmed that they operate based on information given by local distributors.
The site gives "Feb 2013" as the game's expected ship date, but that's a bit more nebulous in its reliability at this point. Still, add this listing with Sony Santa Monica's search for a Senior Staff Concept Artist and Timothy Williams' affirmation that he is indeed working on God of War 4's orchestral score, and we feel confident in saying -- yes -- there may be yet another game in a super popular franchise.

@The Blank Mage Returns On the GoW Director's Featurette included with Ghost of Sparta, David Jaffe talks about his original vision for GoWII and III, where Zeus and the pantheon of Greek gods were killed in GoWII and in GOWIII the Norse and Egyptian Gods came in to try and battled over the religious void left in Greece, Kratos kills them and by doing so he his basically responsible for the fall of the old gods.
So I guess they could maybe do that.

Would it kill them to make a game that isn't God of War? Because it might kill me if they don't...

Ugh, i'm disgusted that one of those freaks from the Tester will help out on this. Egoraptor has proven knowledge of game design, just watch his Sequelitis videos, and they kicked him out.

I'm not familiar with Egoraptor outside The Tester, but I don't think the reason they kicked him out was valid considering the faults of other people... Anyhow... it does scare me too that one of them might possibly work on GoW4. I mean, it's obvious they're all noobs xD

Analyzing old games and their sequels does not equal design experience.
Heck, in those sequelitis videos Ego outright states that he thinks modern games shouldn't have tutorials because Megaman didn't. Given the complexity of modern games, that's just ridiculous. Ego is a fantastic animator, but playing games and making cartoons about them doesn't mean you're an authority on game creation. Game critique, sure. Creation? Nope. Instead of popping up on this show, he should just apply to be a real QA tester instead.

What he means by that it's that Tutorials per se are a stupid way of teaching players how to play games.
He is saying that games need to teach players in a way that's not as obvious or dull as a tutorial, like in Portal where there is no tutorial, but the game teaches you the basic principles of the mechanics while you play, it teaches you which walls portal works and which walls it doesn't just by the way level design was laid out. Of course the game still needs to tell you which buttons it uses to function, that's not a tutorial.
Many games nowadays rely on Tutorials or specific modes of gameplay that is intended to teach players, but that's not inherent in games, tutorials of that kind could be compared to school, where you are told that 2+2 is for, and not discovering that by yourself which is what games can do.
Teaching a player about the rules of your game without a tutorial is one of the hardest things to do while game designing and just some few games manage to do that properly. I'd say Portal 1 and 2, Mega Man X, Braid.
He knows much more about game designing than any one in the Tester, they were all just players and don't even know how produce an entertainment and user experience

I agree about the difficulty of conveying game concepts to a player without the use of tutorials, but that's because the complexity of games makes that either impossible or incredibly impractical. Suppose you have a triple-a 3d adventure game that uses complex traversal mechanics for roughly a third of its gameplay. A developer could create a scripted sequence for each individual traversal mechanic that conveys the mechanic to the player seamlessly... but that's going to cost way more money than a pop up that says "Press the X button here and..."
You can get away without having a tutorial in some games, namely puzzle games and anything that's two dimensional, but in most genres these days its just not worth the effort. That's why there are so few games that don't have tutorials.
In a perfect world game developers can do anything they want and money is never an obstacle. Here on planet Earth, most of the time, they simply don't have the resources.

@TheDarkWayne What was it that earned down votes! Isn't it vogue to call CoD sequels unnecessary? What could be more unnecessary than a sequel to a game where you kill almost literally every God?

i Dont mind another GOW. Its Awesome Really i enjoy them because they are Fun. GOW 3 was EPIC. and i dont know how they can top it, but its a Game its mean to be Played not Complain about if you dont want another GOW, dont buy it no one is Forcing you to. Plus this GOW could be Unrelated to the other GOW games, and be a Different Mithology. Although it will be weird to see a GOW game without Kratos. I dont Know well see.

I'd get it for Vita.
I was kind of hoping they'd do something similar with Egyptian deities where you play as Horus.
