BioShock Infinite ignites a revolution on October 16
50
BioShock Infinite will fly into retail on October 16 and 19 in North America and internationally, respectively, 2K Games just announced. The game will launch on Xbox 360, PC and PS3; with the latter receiving Move support and a free copy of the first BioShock.
"After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition," said Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine. "BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on it."
So, prepare for a trip to Columbia this autumn and fight like it's 1999 (or, 1912, which is when the game is actually set).

I still don't know how I feel about this game. A demo might help me make a decision though, make it happen.

You forgot to tell everyone that the PS3 version contains Bioshock on the disc as a freebie.

@NCase I don't think so, I think the game is releasing in two separate versions for PC to make PC games happy.

Is this the poor PS3 port of Bioshock w/o Trophies?
I'm surprised Irrational would put it's name on that.
I can see it being a free download from the PSN - similar to American McGee's Alice (with Alice: the Madness Returns).

Can't wait. I'm currently replaying Bioshock for the 3rd time. Game is five years old now, and it is still amazing. Best game of this generation, IMO.

They finally agreed to release it, and released it was several months back. Was there something else you were curious about?

Did they? I only heard that they were going to release it but never heard a date or anything.
And I already uninstalled the game, damn it.

I hope they can combine the strong story of BioShock 1 with the improved gameplay mechanics of BioShock 2. I *loved* the hacking system in BioShock 2 as it was so much more intuitive and seamless with the gameplay, plus I felt like I got to use more of my assemble of powers compared to BioShock 1 (especially laying down traps). I'd love to revisit the first BioShock again except the thought of having to deal with 100s of monotonous waterpipe puzzles is slightly nauseating...

Am I the only one that loved those waterpipe puzzles? I thought it was a nice time to take a break from all those crazy splicers and big daddies. I felt like the hacking in BioShock 2 was too streamlined and lacked any sort of thought.

The waterpipes had a kind of steam-punk feel to them didn't they? Like "hey look, these computers are running on WATER!" I thought it fit in well with the Rapture environment

The world/setting/atmosphere of a Bioshock game is like a game character in itself. Ken Levine talked about this at PAX East 2011. This world looks so fantastic, I think this will be a rosetta stone for future developers. (I'm a fanboy)
Also, Bioshock Infinite on PS Vita? Sounds enticing, but if you have a choice, I don't know if this should be played on anything less than a large screen with surround sound. (full experience)
Can't wait..

@EX Rock I was under the impression that the Vita title would be a spin-off, not a port. But I could be wrong.
