Gamestop will reportedly begin selling Steam gift cards next week, according to a Kotaku
source. Sweetening the legitimacy of this bizarre reality, the source also snapped a photo of the packaging (pictured). The cards will allegedly go on sale starting May 15.
Valve has yet to respond to our query on the subject. Gamestop tells us: "As a rule, the company does not comment on rumor and speculation."
Although this may all seem counter-intuitive (and it is when you think about Gamestop's Impulse
digital distribution system), it's more like an agreement between frenemies
. Valve can make money off people who don't use credit cards or other digital purchasing options, while Gamestop keeps making crazy amounts of cash off digital products in stores
