Lead developer Steve Piggott also discusses what makes Chivalry's first-person medievalness different from other melee combat, such as its reliance on human reaction time and weapons with meaningful differences (e.g. the gap in distance between a polearm and a hand axe).
That just leaves us with one question: how destroying a whole village, setting all the houses on fire, and killing every resident is chivalrous.
