Canadian developers looking to crowdfund their gaming projects on Kickstarter will finally be able to do that soon, as the funding platform announced via Twitter
that its service will be open to Canada this summer. Kickstarter is currently only available for US- and UK-based project creators, though those looking to back projects can live anywhere. Previously, some Canadian companies have skirted the exclusion by having a U.S. partner, but now they won't have to bother with that workaround.
Crowdfund hopefuls can sign up through a landing page
on the site to be notified when the platform is ready to launch for developers in the north. Of course, we'll keep an eye out for when that happens as well.
