We've <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/wii-warm-up-motion-controls-plus/">already discussed</a> MotionPlus a bit, but now it's time to talk logistics. While we think MotionPlus will add a lot of depth to many games (even something as simple as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/friday-video-wii-sports-resort-sword-play-at-e3/">Sword Play</a>), we're not sure if third parties <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/motionplus-accessory-adds-hope-to-red-steel-2/">incorporating it into their games</a> is a good thing. Will people still be able to play MotionPlus games without actually owning the peripheral, or must there be multiple control schemes? And, how should reviewers base their reviews of games, since it's likely that many people will be left MotionPlus-less?<br /><br />At any rate, do you think third parties and Wii owners are ready for these games to take advantage of the add-on?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/31/wii-warm-up-motionplus-or-minus/">Wii Warm Up: MotionPlus or minus?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 09:00:00 EST. <br />
Both veteran <span style="font-style: italic;">Disgaea</span> fans and new fans who want to experience the series for the first time are getting ready for the release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/nis-announces-disgaea-delay-releases-english-trailer/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Disgaea DS</span></a>. The strategizing won't begin <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/rhapsody-release-date-announced-disgaea-date-confirmed/">until September 23rd</a>, but until then, it's a good idea for us to know exactly what we're getting into by observing some gameplay action.<br />
<br />
We think that the presentation is pretty nice on the DS, and although the graphics <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/20/disgaea-afternoon-of-comparing-screenshots/">may have toned down</a> in the translation, the visuals aren't wanting for anything. As for the gameplay, <span style="font-style: italic;">Disgaea</span> virgins will notice from the videos that while the grid-based style is familiar, the actual execution differs from many other strategy games.<br />
<br />
Come September, we're ready to sacrifice hundreds of hours of our lives playing this title. Are you with us?<br />
<br />
More battle footage lies after the break!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/get-a-glimpse-of-disgaea-ds/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Get a glimpse of Disgaea DS</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/get-a-glimpse-of-disgaea-ds/">Get a glimpse of Disgaea DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 22:30:00 EST. Chalk this one up to "we saw this coming," but the troubled waters that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/ds-fanboys-semi-ultimate-homebrew-guide/">flash carts</a> have found themselves in has led to an increase in R4 sales.<br /><br />Nintendo and fifty-three other companies <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/nintendo-and-others-file-suit-against-flash-cart-sellers/">are filing a suit against retailers</a> selling flash carts, demanding that they stop the sales and imports of said cards. According to <a href="http://kotaku.com/5030798/is-nintendos-legal-suit-helping-r4-sales">Kotaku</a>, Japanese retailers in Akihabara are noticing a difference in demand for flash cards already. Regarding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/homebrew-solution-r4ds/">the R4</a>, one staffer noted, "The rush in demand has been amazing. These devices always sell well. But this weekend should be staggering, don't you think?" Amazon.jp has also seen a rise in cart sales, which is to be expected.<br /><br />We're sure Nintendo foresaw the immediate panic following the company's announcement, and that's the risk they decided to take -- watching things get worse before they get better. If Nintendo and the others win the suit, though, it will likely be worth their while in the end.<br /><br />[Thanks, supa_s!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/potential-flash-cart-ban-helps-r4-sales/">Potential flash cart ban helps R4 sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 18:00:00 EST. Wii owners should head over to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/zack-and-wiki-still-need-your-help-for-only-10/">Toys R Us</a> next week (or, toysrus.com), as the retailer is having a good deal on Wii titles. From 8/3-8/9 (and even starting earlier in select stores, according to ads), if you buy a Wii game that costs $29.99 or more, you'll get $20 off a second Wii game.<br /><br />Fortunately this deal includes games with peripherals, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wii-play"><em>Wii Play</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wii-fit"><em>Wii Fit</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ddr"><em>DDR</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero"><em>Guitar Hero</em></a>. That is, of course, if you can actually <em>find</em> said games (silly old <em>Wii Fit</em>) in <em>stock</em>.<br /><br />Does anyone plan to use this deal to pick up a long desired title?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://cheapassgamer.com">CAG</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/toys-r-us-offers-buy-one-get-20-off-deal/">Toys R Us offers buy one, get $20 off deal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 16:30:00 EST. Wii hardware was responsible for $5.17 million of that profit, which is an increase of almost $1.75 million from last year's fiscal Q1. Meanwhile, Wii software raked in $40.41 million (up $24.42 million).<br /><br /><a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/mario-kart"><em>Mario Kart Wii</em></a> and <em><a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/wii-fit">Wii Fit</a></em> were part of the reason for this software success, since in the quarter <em>Wii Fit</em> sold 3.42 million copies and <em>Mario Kart </em>sold a whopping 6.42 million units. And, if you weren't yet convinced that Nintendo deserves the "printing money" meme, the company is projected to bring in a net profit of about $3 billion dollars for the year. <br /><br />We don't know about you, but our own wallets and bank accounts are growling with envy.<br /><br /><font color="red">Update:</font> Fixed some typos. <br />While some of you remain skeptical about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/27/helix-springs-onto-wiiware/"><em>Helix</em></a>, we're definitely interested in Ghostfire Games' upcoming WiiWare title. Essentially, everything you need to know about the game is revealed by Ed Roman in this producer walkthrough (embedded up top). <br /><br />Ghostfire is really stressing the whole "exercise made fun" angle, and with the success of titles like <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/ddr"><em>DDR</em></a> and <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/wii-fit"><em>Wii Fit</em></a>, who can blame them? What we like most about <em>Helix</em>, though, is that the developers clearly put a lot of thought into every aspect of this dancing game. Take, for example, the calibration option, which helps the software map out your own specific movement quirks more easily. (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motionplus/">MotionPlus</a>, schmotionplus.) Also, according to Roman, you can still play the game if you only have one Wiimote, so if you lack two controllers that's not a game-killing issue.<br /><br />If you're curious about how the developers fit twenty-six songs onto a WiiWare title, or why they decided to use two Wiimotes rather than a Wiimote/Nunchuk combination, or anything else about <em>Helix</em>, for that matter, just check out the video above.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/taking-a-closer-look-at-helix/">Taking a closer look at Helix</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. While crotchety old veterans like ourselves (who were actually alive when games like <em>Monkey Island</em> flooded shelves) still enjoy the genre, younger gamers don't have the patience and just don't see the point.<br /><br />We're inclined to agree a bit, as adventure gaming has become a lot more niche than it was in the past. <em>We</em> would argue, however, that the DS has been doing a good job of reviving such puzzlers, even for younger fans craving more action. With the touchscreen making point-and-click (or point-and-touch, if you will) much more accessible, not to mention the added bonus of portability, we think adventure games reach more than just a veteran gamer demographic. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on our part, but we wouldn't be surprised to see young teens popping in a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ace-attorney"><em>Phoenix Wright</em></a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/ds-fanboy-review-professor-layton-and-the-curious-village/"><em>Professor Layton</em></a>.<br /><br />What do you think, though? Are we just too oldschool and stubborn to let the genre lay to rest? Maybe those of you with younger siblings might have more insight when it comes to the patience of the younger set of gamers.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/have-modern-gamers-lost-the-patience-for-puzzles--125818.html">DCEmu</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/are-games-with-puzzles-a-dying-breed/">Are games with puzzles a dying breed?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 19:30:00 EST. If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call? Ghostbust ... er ... well, maybe not.<br /><br />With the Blizzavision merger, a few Sierra titles (like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-ghostbusters-busting-ghosts-faces/"><em>Ghostbusters</em></a>) may get the axe. When it comes to efficiency, Sierra has been deemed a "non-strategic business unit," which (we're sure we don't have to tell you) is <em>not good</em>. While the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/blizzavision-keeps-crash-spyro-ice-age-prototype-loses-bruta/">recently merged publisher reports </a>that Sierra franchises like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-crash-bandicoot-crashes-the-party/"><em>Crash Bandicoot</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/spyro"><em>Spyro</em></a> will be safe, the fate of <em>Ghostbusters</em> is still up in the air. <br /><br />Offering a bit of reassurance, Sierra <a href="http://www.destructoid.com/rumortoid-future-of-ghostbusters-and-brutal-legend-in-question-97180.phtml">claims</a>, "[<em>Ghostbusters</em>] is not cancelled and will not be cancelled." Some words from the people with the money, though, would probably make us feel better.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/we-aint-afraid-of-no-ghosts-just-cancellation/">We ain't afraid of no ghosts, just cancellation</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 16:30:00 EST. Nintendo is finally taking aggressive action against piracy, as the company is suing five Japanese firms over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/ds-fanboys-semi-ultimate-homebrew-guide/">flash cart</a> equipment. The Big N is just one of many plaintiffs in the case, though, with fifty-three others joining in to aid the fight -- just a few companies that you may have heard of, like, oh, Square Enix, Sega, Level-5, Hudson, Pokemon, Capcom, Namco Bandai, SNK Playmore, Koei, and so forth.<br /><br />While details are scarce, we can imagine a lot of popular carts (like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/retailers-hoping-for-r4-ban-in-uk/">the R4</a>), if not <em>all</em> carts, will be affected. Should Nintendo and friends win the suit, selling and importing such carts will be illegal, meaning that people would have to resort to the black market to get their hands on one.<br /><br />We understand why Nintendo and other companies would want to fight the good fight against piracy, but we can't help but fret over the impact on our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/24/homebrew-week-the-recapping/">precious homebrew hobby</a>. At any rate, we'll give you more information as this case unfolds. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/nintendo-files-lawsuit-to-curb-ds-piracy/">Joystiq</a>; Thanks, Kimiko!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/nintendo-and-others-file-suit-against-flash-cart-sellers/">Nintendo and others file suit against flash cart sellers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 13:30:00 EST. Those of you who've seen <em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/">The Dark Knight</a> </em>probably still have Batman in your systems, so hopefully news on the superhero in LEGO form is enough to sate your batty cravings. Warner Bros. is certainly trying to indulge in your wants by revealing more news about the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/e308-wii-fanboy-fights-crime-in-lego-batman/"><em>LEGO Batman</em></a> video game. <br /><br />Today, the company brings word of a new villain, one that Batman fans will be familiar with -- Man-Bat. Man-Bat is actually a scientist named Kirk Langstrom, who injected himself with a bat-based serum in order to gain sonar powers and aid his worsening deafness. Obviously, bad results ensue, and he turns into a bat-looking monster that attacks Gotham City. Fun!<br /><br />For some Man-Bat related screens, just click on our gallery below.<br /><br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/man-bat-is-one-ugly-lego-villain/">Man-Bat is one ugly LEGO villain</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. There's a lot of speculation about <em>Resident Evil 5</em> coming to the Wii, especially after <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/rumor-resident-evil-5-rears-its-ugly-head-once-more/">a statement made by Simon Jeffery</a> added some fuel to the fire. Perhaps because of such rumors, or perhaps for fun, one fan decided to make a comparison between <em>Resident Evil 4</em> and what we've seen so far of <em>Resident Evil 5</em>.<br /><br />After watching the video, we don't see why the game <em>couldn't</em> come to the Wii. Granted, the graphics won't be as pretty, but everything else should translate simply enough. With that said, we wouldn't be surprised if Capcom one day ported the game, especially after announcing <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/dead-rising-compare-til-you-drop/">Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop</a></em> for the Wii.<br /><br />Of course, <em>RE5 </em>still has a long way to go in development, so there maybe something else under the title's zombified sleeves that will end up surprising us.<br /><br />[Thanks, Adam!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/resident-evil-4-vs-resident-evil-5/">Resident Evil 4 vs. Resident Evil 5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 19:30:00 EST. That's why we're <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/20/unsolved-crimes-revealed/">even more intrigued</a> by the realistic-looking adventure game, <em>Unsolved Crimes</em>, which takes place in this crime-filled setting.<br /><br />The game should be releasing this fall (in the UK, at least), and centers around a rookie detective. He (and therefore, you,) must figure out the circumstances behind the disappearance of aspiring model Betty Blake. The game will focus on the one overarching storyline, but will include other mysteries for you to solve as well (&agrave; la <em>Hotel Dusk</em>). In fact, the press release boasts that there are eight different cases to solve.<br /><br />Also like <em>Hotel Dusk</em>, you'll have to pay close attention to detail so that you can answer questions later (in addition to point-and-click adventure gaming and action-packed shootouts). Check out the new screens in the gallery below for more of an idea of what to expect.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/unsolved-crimes-offers-more-clues-about-gameplay/">Unsolved Crimes offers more clues about gameplay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 19:30:00 EST. For people longing to play new demos via the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a>, the frustration continues. All we saw on the channel today was the return of two demos that we never really missed in the first place (we're looking at you, <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/carnival-games/">Carnival Games</a> </span>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/16/ds-fanboy-review-crosswords-ds/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Crosswords DS</span></a> Wordsearch).<br /><br />Nintendo also extended the availability dates on three of the existing demos, probably because offering three new ones would have been too satisfying (/bitter). The good news is, you have another week to try out <span style="font-style: italic;">Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Contra 4</span> if you haven't done so already.<br /><br />Click past the break to see yet another underwhelming list of demos.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/carnival-games-makes-its-return-to-the-ds-download-service/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Carnival Games makes its return to the DS Download Service</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/carnival-games-makes-its-return-to-the-ds-download-service/">Carnival Games makes its return to the DS Download Service</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 15:01:00 EST. We imagine many of you love the DS (or else you wouldn't be here). Granted, there are<em> many</em> reasons to consider the DS as your electronic soulmate, or at least <em>we</em> think so. Still, what do you think is the DS's very best feature? <br />Along with the news that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/26/segas-new-rpg-world-destruction-depicted/"><em>World Destruction</em></a> will be releasing in Japan on September 25th (shock, gasp, it was pushed back a week!), Sega has released a new video for the title. Although it shows some more gameplay footage, most of it is your classic RPG fodder and not battle scenes. Still, we're pretty impressed by how it seems to be turning out. Not only does it look great and have an interesting story, but the 300 event scenes and plethora of maps and voices that Sega promised should be enough to excite any RPG gamer.<br /><br />Also, folks interested in the game (or anime, or comic) can go and check out <em>World Destruction's</em> <a href="http://wd.sega.jp/">official website</a>. There's not much in the "Game" section, aside from a nice-looking background and a gorgeous song (the one from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/31/trailers-created-for-world-destruction/">previous trailers</a>), but the song alone is enough to get us to keep on coming back until they add some content.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/sega-shows-more-destruction/">Sega shows more Destruction</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 20:00:00 EST. Most reviewers rank <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/27/wii-fanboy-review-dragon-quest-swords/"><em>Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors</em></a> as mediocre, but $17 sounds like a fair price for the game. If you happen to agree (and can buy games from Amazon.com), you should probably hit up Amazon's "Deal of the Day." <br /><br />The battle system might take you to "Waggle City" and the story might fall a little flat, but cheap prices tend to make up for these things. Then again, the price of <em>Dragon Quest Swords</em> has been dropping steadily at Amazon for a while now, and might even go <em>lower</em> in the near future. Unfortunately, we're too busy to get into our time machines and check.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/dragon-quest-swords-gets-a-slimey-sale/">Dragon Quest Swords gets a slimey sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 13:45:00 EST. If we lived in Japan right now (or had enough Japanese skills to import it), we'd be able to play <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fire-emblem/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Fire Emblem</span>: <em>New Dark Dragons and the Sword of Light</em></a> in two mere weeks. Since that's not the case, though, we'll just have produce puddles upon puddles of drool while watching video footage (seriously -- we're <span style="font-style: italic;">that</span> excited). We're sure that many of you don't need to be convinced to join the hype train, though, and are anticipating this one as much as we are. <br />
<br />
The two videos (one is posted after the break) are in Japanese, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's being highlighted. For one, you can see that the game will utilize the stylus to move around the grids. The announcer also talks about a few of the different classes, as well as features in the game (like class changes), but those are all things that <span style="font-style: italic;">Fire Emblem</span> fans will be familiar with. Lastly, you'll get a glimpse into <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/online-battles-ahoy-for-fire-emblem/">the Wi-Fi battle system</a>, which put to rest our fears about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/new-fire-emblem-scans-both-excite-and-worry-us/">the dreaded countdown timer</a>. As it turns out, the dwindling clock is only a factor when it comes to online play.<br />
<br />
After the break, check out the Japanese TV ad which makes us want something else entirely -- <span style="font-style: italic;">Fire Emblem: The Board Game</span>.<br />

<br />Because the game <em>Space Invaders</em> has been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember, we've grown quite fond of the iconic alienoids. That's why we're completely ready to blow up the world with them in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/05/space-invaders-get-even-with-the-wii/">Space Invaders Get Even</a></em>, which is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/17/space-invaders-get-even-better-its-wiiware/">headed to WiiWare</a> this year (in Japan).<br /><br />Now the game has its own <a href="http://www.taito.co.jp/csm/title/2008/si_geteven/">official website</a>, and it's definitely worth a visit. Aside from the teaser trailer posted above, there are also<em> four </em>videos of gameplay foootage to examine under your watchful eyes. So long, Eiffel Tower.<br /><br /> To see the other videos, just go to <a href="http://www.taito.co.jp/csm/title/2008/si_geteven/">the site</a> and click on "Get Even," then "Game System"<br /><br /><br />[Thanks, supa_s!]</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/space-invaders-get-videos-website/">Space Invaders Get Videos, Website</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST. Those of you interested in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/commercial-heaven/"><em>Rhythm Heaven</em></a> have probably already <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-rhythm-heaven-is-the-best-musical-microgame-collection-at/">read JC's impressions</a> jealously -- though if you're neither interested in the game nor spent the time to read about it, <em>shame on you</em>.<br /><br />All you <em>sane-minded</em> folks don't have to be too jealous of "Lucky Dog Fletcher" anymore, though. The video above shows the exact demo that he got to try during E3, only it's in Japanese. Sure, that's not quite the equivalent of <em>playing the game</em>, but it's enough to make us squeal all the same. (We rhymed, so it must be true.)<br /><br />Go on now and watch the video above to see extended play of the Assembly Line, Robot Gallery, and Chorus musical microgames.<br /><br />

Take Forbis Technologies, for example, who <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/15/will-the-real-weemote-please-stand-up/">came out with the Weemote</a> (and trademarked the name in 2000) long before the Wii even launched. <br /><br />Nintendo never officially refers to the Wii's controller as a Wiimote, and always calls it by the full name Wii Remote. Retailer and blog outlets such as ourselves are the cause of the problem, however, as we constantly use the unofficial nickname. Ever since the term "Wiimote" caught on, though, the Weemote's sales have "fallen considerably."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/wiimote-triumphs-over-weemote-a-small-business-sob-story/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Wiimote triumphs over Weemote: A small business sob story</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/wiimote-triumphs-over-weemote-a-small-business-sob-story/">Wiimote triumphs over Weemote: A small business sob story</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. Called <em>Kimi no Yuusha</em>, we don't know much about the title other than it looks absolutely adorable. It was also revealed that SNK Playmore is the developer behind the game, and it's some sort of light novel and RPG combination. <br /><br />The two main characters are a blue-haired girl named Wanda (pictured right) and a blond-haired girl named Tio. The 2D battle graphics in the scans aren't all that pretty, but the rest of the art seems very pleasing. It's still lacking in compelling content, however, aside from a downloadable wallpaper and a beautiful background song. (You can also see the Japanese character profiles for Roxas and Axel, as well as browse through a few screens in the "Story" section.)<br /><br />The other interesting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/a-move-toward-the-original-rumored-kingdom-hearts-details/"><em>358/2 Days</em></a> news is that in the manual for the DS remake of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/theres-plenty-to-do-in-dragon-quest-v/">Dragon Quest V</a> </em>(which released last week in Japan), an ad for the game boasts "Coming 2008." One of the reasons that certain bloggers (namely, <span style="font-style: italic;">this</span> one) were so excited for the U.S. release of <span style="font-style: italic;">Space Invaders Extreme</span> in the first place was because its <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/02/18/space-invaders-extreme-downloadable-demo/">downloadable demo for the PSP</a> was nothing short of <span style="font-style: italic;">awesome</span>. You can imagine, then, how torn we were when it came to choosing between the DS and PSP versions of the game. We only figured that some of our readers were going through the same dilemma, and thus we ended up trying out both just so that <span style="font-style: italic;">you</span> don't have to.<br /><br />If you want to see how <span style="font-style: italic;">Space Invaders Extreme</span> DS and PSP stack up against each other, just click on past the break for a pretty chart and in-depth category breakdowns. <br /><br />

Whether or not you've been able to find Wiis in stores as of late, the holiday season is a completely different beast. Even now, in July, company president Satoru Iwata can't promise that there will be enough Wiis stocked to meet demand this Christmastime. If Wiis are scarce, this will be the third holiday season in a row that people in the U.S. and UK have had difficulty locating the console. <br /><br />Iwata promises that the company is doing everything in its power to avoid this situation, and is on schedule to develop 2.4 million units for 2008 by the end of the year. <br /><br />We can imagine only that some other Nintendo stock (we're looking at <em>you</em>, <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/wii-fit"><em>Wii Fit</em></a>) will be a nightmare to find this holiday season, too.<br /><br />[Thanks, Thomas!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/iwata-keep-dreaming-of-a-white-console-christmas/">Iwata: Keep dreaming of a white console Christmas</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 11:45:00 EST. <br />No, you didn't misread the title of this post; it's not another edition of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/born-for-wii/">Born for Wii</a> for today. Yet, the title is still a bit misleading, as we really should have said that the <a href="http://itu.dk/stud/darkroom/about.php"><em>Dark Room Sex Game</em></a> is "Porn for Wii <span style="font-style: italic;">Remote</span>."<br /><br />Created for the Nordic Game Jam at the IT University at Copenhagen (which had a theme of "taboo" this year), players can either use Wiimotes or a keyboard to play this PC title. Even though it's a "sex" game, there are no visuals in <em>Dark Room</em> (only audio). The objective is to find a "mutual rhythm" with your partner, and then gradually speed up until -- well, we probably don't need to spell out the rest. Four players can also take part simultaneously in Orgy Mode, during which you "swap partners randomly and compete to reach orgasm the fastest."<br /><br />Part of the inspiration behind <em>Dark Room</em>, apparently, was the phallic shape (and rumble) of the Wiimote. The team behind it hoped to make players feel embarrassed but satisfied, and believes that the use of imagination in the game is more erotic than using raunchy graphics. We're not so sure, though, that some hormone-driven teenagers would agree.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Note:</span> The audio (and audio only) in the video above is <span style="font-weight: bold;">NSFW</span>. Also, the reaction of the person watching <span style="font-style: italic;">Dark Room Sex Game</span> is absolutely hilarious.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/07/21/in-hour-three-i-describe-the-graphics-free-wii-sex-game/">MTV Multiplayer</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/porn-for-wii-dark-room-sex-game/">Porn for Wii: Dark Room Sex Game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 23:00:00 EST. It's times like these that we wish we had $250 to burn on a quilt.<br /><br />Even if we can't buy this, though, we can sure admire it (along with many <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/10/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-space-invaders-extreme-but-w/">other <span style="font-style: italic;">Space Invaders</span></a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/19/space-invaders-on-your-neck-ears-and-waist/">themed items</a>). <br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Tecmo/">Tecmo</a> has a pretty decent lineup of upcoming games for the DS, and <em>Robocalypse</em> is one on the list that's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/18/it-came-from-the-internet-robocalypse-trailer/">managed to catch our eye</a>. We're even more intrigued after watching this interview with Ryan Gilbo (who also did a pretty good job of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-welcome-to-the-tecmo-bowl/">selling <em>Tecmo Bowl Kickoff</em> to us</a>). <br /><br />If a robot-based RTS with a B-movie feel isn't enough to capture your attention, you probably won't care about the other things <em>Robocalypse</em> has to offer. If you love robots (and the RTS genre), though, you definitely need to take a look at this game.<br /><br />We can only hope at this point that it's as fun as Gilbo makes it out to be.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/tecmo-producer-talks-robocalypse/">Tecmo producer talks Robocalypse</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. No matter how much you love Nintendo, there's no way you can justify those vile things known as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/friend-codes/">friend codes</a>.<br /><br />Nintendo (the company) might not despise them as much as we do (or at all), but at least some of the higher-ups are willing to acknowledge that they're not the best <em>EVAR</em>. He then spouted the usual company line when he said, "<span class="text_article_body">However, if it's an online world where you can get access to anybody without any restrictions, I as a father do not feel like allowing my daughter be engaged in that kind of world."</span><br /><br />Iwata said that the purpose of friend codes is to create a harassment-free environment for people less familiar with online video gaming, but we can't help but feel like friend codes are a different kind of harassment that tirelessly bothers those who <em>are</em> experienced online gamers. The prez also said that the company is working on improving the system, though, while keeping it safe.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=193738">CVG</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/iwata-friend-codes-arent-perfect-us-duh/">Iwata: Friend codes aren't perfect (Us: Duh)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. The stage we're featuring today is by Bombey, who happens to be the brother of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/03/brawl-stage-of-the-week-spear-twmx/">a previous Stage of the Weeker</a>. Whereas last week we chose a board that was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/brawl-stage-of-the-week-galaxy-arena/">perfectly catered for brawling</a>, this week we leaned a little more toward stage design and concept. Even so, it still packs quite a punch and is a great stage to fight some friends on.<br /><br />If you can't tell exactly what the concept is from the title of this post or the picture, well -- we really can't help you. But yes, as the title says, it's a car! Click on past the break to download the stage and/or read more about it.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/brawl-stage-of-the-week-its-a-car/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Brawl Stage of the Week: It's a Car</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/brawl-stage-of-the-week-its-a-car/">Brawl Stage of the Week: It's a Car</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 16:15:00 EST. It's a testament to <em>just how good</em> the <a href="http://dsfanboy.com/tag/ace-attorney"><em>Ace Attorney</em></a> series is when we're considering playing something that looks -- well, <em>meh</em>, to put it bluntly -- in the hopes that we'll be able to experience something even somewhat similar. Yet, without the charm of characters like Phoenix Wright, not to mention a much cheesier-looking objection screen, is there really a point? <br /><br />In case you're wondering what we're rambling on about, Portuguese developer GAMEINVEST is releasing an attorney adventure game this summer titled <em>Defenders of Law, Inc: Crime in Willburg</em>. Like the <em>Ace Attorney</em> games, you'll be finding clues and gathering evidence to help you solve a murder mystery, just to prove your client innocent.<br /><br />What intrigues us is that there will be 25 different scenarios, and you can choose from five different attorneys to play as, too. If this game <em>does</em> turn out to be good, at least it will be <em>a lot </em>of good. On the other hand, if it turns out to be bad ... well, we're sure you get the gist. <br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/defender-of-law-raises-slight-objections/">Defender of Law raises slight objections</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 16:15:00 EST. As you probably know, flash carts not only offer interesting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/homebrew/">homebrew</a> opportunities, but they also provide owners with the means to pirate games. Piracy has been cutting into DS software sales, and retailers? They're not very happy.<br /><br />The cart under attack is, of course, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/homebrew-solution-r4ds/">the R4DS</a> -- it <em>is</em> the most mainstream one, after all. Retailers don't want R4s to be sold anymore, and are calling for a UK ban on the product. SimplyGames.com has already pulled the flash card from its site after a "conversation with Nintendo." (As far as we can tell, the site isn't selling alternative carts, either.)<br /><br />We know what you're thinking -- the R4 isn't the only piracy option out there. Yet, it's likely that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/homebrew-solution-m3-real/">other</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/homebrew-solution-cyclods-evolution/">flash</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/other-homebrew-solutions/">cards</a> will find themselves on the chopping block, too. A nationwide ban on the R4 and others probably won't happen, though, and even if it does, many will just turn to imports.<br /><br />Being the good souls that we are, we're assuming that most of you <em>aren't</em> pirates and can sympathize with suffering retailers. Still, do you think that warrants a ban on flash carts?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/retailers-hoping-for-r4-ban-in-uk/">Retailers hoping for R4 ban in UK</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 15:30:00 EST. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/02/new-zealand-nintendos-new-red-headed-stepchild/">recently fretted</a> over neglected Nintendo fans in New Zealand, as the country's Nintendo distributor had to file for receivorship (effectively taking them out of them distribution picture). Now, though, it seems that there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the Kiwis, and the loss of Softprint Interactive might not be all doom and gloom. <br /><br />When we last mentioned the issue, we hoped that Nintendo would step up and take care of things themselves, but we never thought they actually <em>would</em>. Yet, current rumors are putting our doubts to rest. While an Australian company called All Interactive Distribution seems to be taking up things on the distributing end, Nintendo of Australia will supposedly support them and promote Nintendo products.<br /><br />While this is certainly good news for Kiwis, we think it's also good news for Nintendo, as the company <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/the-wii-trails-behind-competitors-in-new-zealand/">has had trouble</a> gaining a foothold in New Zealand. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=49879">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/rumor-nintendo-of-australia-to-solve-new-zealands-distribution/">Rumor: Nintendo of Australia to solve New Zealand's distribution problems</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. Whether you don't yet own <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero-iii"><em>Guitar Hero III</em></a> or just want to pick up another Les Paul guitar, you might find yourself shopping at Circuit City this week. The retailer is selling bundles of the game for the low price of $59.99, which is the same price (and even cheaper, depending on where you find it) as a standalone guitar. <br /><br />If interested, you can either drive yourself over to a brick and mortar store or check out this deal <a href="http://clickserve.cc-dt.com/link/tplclick?lid=41000000013459594&amp;pubid=21000000000031063&amp;Key=777592&amp;redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.circuitcity.com%2Fssm%2FActivision-Guitar-Hero-III-Wireless-Bundle-for-Wii-047875951259%2Fsem%2Frpsm%2Foid%2F187030%2Frpem%2Fccd%2FproductDetail.do">online</a>. <div align="left">Another Monday means more videos on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a>, and is there anything worth watching? Well, not really. We <em>did</em> appreciate the <span style="font-style: italic;">Hell's Kitchen</span> Info Video, though, if only so that we could mock it. Who knows how the game will actually play, as a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/whip-up-a-batch-of-cooking-mama-world-kitchen-screens/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Cooking Mama</span></a> with actual recipes might be kind of fun. (Even if this video doesn't make it <em>look</em> fun.) But what's the point of using the <em>Hell's Kitchen</em> license if Chef Ramsey isn't going to be his total cad self?<br /><br />They definitely toned down Ramsey's personality for the game, or at least it appears that way from this trailer. Spouting lines like, "Not good so far," and, "I need you to really -- <span style="font-style: italic;">seriously</span> -- up your game," are laughable coming from the chef's mouth. "Don't even touch another thing in this kitchen" is the worst it gets, apparently. Wow, color us scared.<br /><br />To see the entire list of videos on the Nintendo Channel this week, just click past the break.<br /></div>

Capcom cleared the air on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/dead-rising-to-eat-brains-of-wii-gamers/"><em>Dead Rising Wii</em></a> today, not only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/rumors-new-sonic-game-and-dead-rising-for-us/">confirming</a> the title for America, but also providing some interesting details about the game.<br /><br />Now subtitled <em>Chop Till You Drop</em>, <em>Dead Rising</em> will use the same engine as <em>Resident Evil 4 Wii</em>. Obviously the game will also utilize the Wiimote's "point-and-shoot" capabilities, but it will include other motion controls, too, such as shaking off zombies and throwing explosives.<br /><br />The other big news is that the port will incorporate an "improved" save system. Many might be jumping for joy at that fact, while <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/bloggers/alisha-karabinus/">others</a> might think that such a change will wussify the series. Either way, that's how the cookie crumbles, folks. We don't have details yet on whether or not the player will be able to save at any time, though.<br /><br />Those of you who are still excited for the game (save system be damned) can expect it to hit North America sometime this winter. Also, check out the new screens in our gallery below.<br /><br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/capcom-reveals-zombie-tastic-info-for-dead-rising-confirms-na-release/">Capcom reveals zombie-tastic info for Dead Rising, confirms NA release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 15:30:00 EST. Not all of us are up to the challenge of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/izuna-2-hands-on-with-an-unemployed-ninja/">brutal</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/12/metareview-mystery-dungeon-shiren-the-wanderer/">roguelike</a>, and that's okay. In fact, that's what roguelike-lights such as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/shed-some-light-on-the-mystery-with-these-pokemon-mystery-dungeo/"><em>Pok</em><em>&eacute;</em><em>mon Mystery Dungeon</em></a> are for. Just because said games don't beat your spirit to a pulp, though, doesn't mean they're not enjoyable, especially for Pok<em>&eacute;</em>maniacs. <br /><br />Today's a good time to become an explorer of time or darkness, as both <em>Pok&eacute;mon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time</em> and <em>Explorers of Darkness</em> are being offered as Amazon's deal of the day. Each one is currently on sale for $22.99, and will be until 12:00am PDT. Yet, if you're not familiar with the <em>Pok</em><em>&eacute;</em><em>mon Mystery Dungeon</em> series, you might want to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/25/ds-fanboy-review-pokemon-mystery-dungeon-2/">check out our review</a> of the game (well, <em>games</em>) first.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/pokemon-mystery-dungeon-explorers-of-sales/">Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 14:45:00 EST. We're asking this question <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/20/wii-warm-up-what-surprised-you-at-e3/">over at Wii Fanboy</a> this morning as well, but we think it might be more pertinent here -- if only because of the niche nature of most DS games. With that said, let's get to it -- were there any games that eluded your radar before, but caught your attention <a href="http://dsfanboy.com/tag/e308">at E3</a>? If so, what games were they? And, what exactly was it that caused you to take notice (screens, videos, impressions, something else)?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/20/ds-daily-well-well-look-at-that/">DS Daily: Well, well, look at that</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 20 Jul 2008 10:30:00 EST. Most likely, you kept tabs on games that you were already looking forward to. Did anything surprise you, though?
