Now, this ispure speculation, but with Activision's recent acquisition of the Transformersfranchise, a new Transformers game would seem to be a perfect fit for the Revolution.

The Transformersfranchise has a massive following, and it has been too long since a really fun Transformers game was made. This wouldalso fit in with the Revolution's existing lineup (with what meager information is available right now), and would seemto be a perfect way for the Transformers franchise to launch into a new era of Autobot vs. Decepticon goodness.

I'm not quite sure how the Japanese market would be handled, since the franchise is limited in Japan, buthopefully it wouldn't be limited at all. If you are reading this, Hasbro and Activision, make it happen! For thechildren, of course.
Activision Hard At Work on a Revolution Title (Transformers Perhaps?) originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 06 Mar 2006 21:00:00 EST. The list of games that will be provided (if the rumor proves true) ishuge. Too big, in my opinion, to be feasible, but if Nintendo only picks the top 10-15 of each graduating class, itwill be a big event. I could see the release of the best games being just as highly anticipated as those byprofessional developers, especially if they are reasonably priced.

This rumor is similar to the gamedownload service available over Xbox Live, with one primary exception. There is currently no good way for a brilliantyoung developer to get recognition until he or she has spent years working for a major developer. This mechanic willprovide an easy way for new, good games to gain instant access to a wide audience.
Student Games Coming to Revolution? originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 02 Feb 2006 10:09:00 EST. The leak was from an anonymous source, but the weapon renders and details were so well made that it wasgiven some credence. Not to mention, the game itself looked fascinating, and it seemed to be using the Revolutioncontroller in very interesting ways. For instance, to select and throw a bomb, you twist the controller right twice, then you hold A and swing the controller. The developer seemed to be embracing the newfangled control systemwholeheartedly.

Well, an update has been posted. The developer,LifeSpark Studios, has confirmed that this leak was part of a viral marketing campaign designed to generate buzz aboutits first game. The game doesn't have a publisher yet, but by releasing part of the 60 page pitch package, the studiohoped to promote the game, even though it is a small developer with no previous releases.

The"leaked" info was interesting and professional-grade, so hopefully the added buzz will give this developerthe recognition necessary to be picked up by a publisher. This isn't the first time viral marketing has worked, but itseems to be growing in popularity. If this game gets picked up, we may see small developers using this ploy more oftenin the future.
Sunder Scans: Not Fake, but Not Real Either originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 29 Jan 2006 14:45:00 EST.
