Welcome to another wonderful edition of X3F Achievements 101. Today's topics of discussion include Major Nelson's warning about gamesaving, sludging through the online multiplayer Achievements of <span style="font-style: italic;">Fuzion Frenzy 2</span>, my experience thus far with <span style="font-style: italic;">Project Gotham Racing 4</span>, and the rather annoying list of Achievements found in <span style="font-style: italic;">Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. </span>Anyway, all the goodness that you've come to expect is included after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/31/x3f-achievements-101-all-hallows-achieve/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Achievements 101: All Hallow's Achieve</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/31/x3f-achievements-101-all-hallows-achieve/">X3F Achievements 101: All Hallow's Achieve</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 31 Oct 2007 14:45:00 EST. Welcome to another edition of the weekly Gamerscore whoring extravaganza, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/achievements101">X3F Achievements 101</a>. As usual, I'll discuss the latest in unlocking Achievements, or discuss any news that's especially pertinent to the Achievement obsessed. This week covers the painful to play, yet easy to complete <span style="font-style: italic;">Fuzion Frenzy 2</span>, the near perfect list for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo3/" style="font-style: italic;">Halo 3</a>, and the just released <span style="font-style: italic;">Orange Box.</span> All that and more is available after the break, so dive in.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/15/x3f-achievements-101-the-way-the-world-ends/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Achievements 101: The Way the World Ends</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/15/x3f-achievements-101-the-way-the-world-ends/">X3F Achievements 101: The Way the World Ends</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Oct 2007 18:45:00 EST. This latest edition of <a href="http://xbox360fanboy.com/tag/achievements101">X3F Achievements 101</a> is up for your perusal, and touches on the joys of traveling when having an Achievement streak to maintain, while at the same time exploring potential options to make it more viable, namely Live for Windows on Vista. I also talk about finishing up <span style="font-style: italic;">Shadowrun</span>, commenter responses on "boosting", and my time with <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BioShock/">BioShock</a>, as well as what quickies I've got lined up prior to the launch of <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo3/">Halo 3</a><span style="font-style: italic;">.</span> All of this and more can be found after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/17/x3f-achievements-101-on-the-road/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Achievements 101: On the Road</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/17/x3f-achievements-101-on-the-road/">X3F Achievements 101: On the Road</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Sep 2007 15:00:00 EST. The fancy lads over at Eurogamer gave a good, <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=82351&amp;page=1">hard look</a> at <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BurnoutParadise/">Burnout Paradise</a></em>, and how Criterion is focusing on the "seamless" gameplay. Given the open environment of Paradise City, where we suppose the grass is indeed green and the girls above average, there are plenty of opportunities to expand on the number of things to do beyond racing and crashing. <br /><br />Aided by the addition of a handbrake, Burners will be able to perform Power Parking, where if you see a space between two parks vehicles that you may be able to squeeze into, and hopefully you can pull it off without hitting the curb or their parked vehicles. It's the little things like that which give us a lot of hope for this iteration of the Burnout series. Check out the full scoop by clicking the "read" link.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/03/eurogamer-previews-burnout-paradise/">Eurogamer previews Burnout Paradise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 14:30:00 EST. <div align="left">So, as per our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/18/x3f-meetup-toronto-ontario-on-august-27th/">discussion</a> before, I'm going to be in Toronto today, and want to throw down an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/X3FMeetup/">X3F Meetup</a> for any readers in the area. After perusing the comments of the announcement of it taking place on the 27th, (which is today), I decided to go with Lick's Ice Cream Burger Shop for our location. The address and contact info is <a href="http://torontorestaurantguide.net/licks-ice-cream-burger-shop?reviewo=1">readily</a> available and we'd love to see you there. Meetup time is going to be starting around <strong>7:45-8:00 PM ET</strong>. Hopefully we can have a good time and get some equally good grub. We'll see you there. Feel free to use comments here as a means to organize stuff amongst yourselves. <br /><br />Note: This story will be bumped periodically to keep it easily accessible.</div>

We went to the Press only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hothead/">Hothead</a> Games Q&amp;A for their upcoming PC (Windows, Mac and Linux) game for Penny Arcade, <span style="font-style: italic;">On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One</span>. It opened up with a new trailer that built upon the previous one, that has taken huge steps in capturing the Penny Arcade look, in both the 2D and 3D realm. As they start showing the same demo on the show floor today, the trailer and gameplay footage will more than likely be hitting the intertubes soon so you can form your own opinions in the the progress of the art direction. After the trailer played the fired up their build of the game and started a new campaign. Full details on the demo and information from after the Q&amp;A session can be found after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/25/pax-07-penny-arcade-adventures-developers-panel/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PAX 07: Penny Arcade Adventures developers panel</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/25/pax-07-penny-arcade-adventures-developers-panel/">PAX 07: Penny Arcade Adventures developers panel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Aug 2007 14:45:00 EST. While a little later than usual, there's another wonderful <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Achievements101">X3F Achievements 101</a> for you this week. A first for the column, a reader organized a gaming session in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Shadowrun/">Shadowrun</a></em>, and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/14/dont-cut-yourself-just-yet-mcr-pack-on-guitar-hero-ii/">latest</a> downloadable content for <em>Guitar Hero II</em> threw some Achievements that are now easier to get, if you're willing to pay for the content. We're also testing out a new timeslot, posting the column at the tail end of the work week instead of at the beginning. So, continue on to another action packed Achievements 101.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/24/x3f-achievements-101-star-power-summon-strangle-and-sniping/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Achievements 101: Star Power, Summon, Strangle, &amp; Sniping</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/24/x3f-achievements-101-star-power-summon-strangle-and-sniping/">X3F Achievements 101: Star Power, Summon, Strangle, &amp; Sniping</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Aug 2007 11:00:00 EST. To sweeten the deal, the also announced some more vehicles in the game, both those with two wheels and four. Personal favorites at X3F Towers in the most recent bunch include the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Atom">Ariel Atom 300 Supercharged</a>, making a return since being introduced in <em>PGR2</em>, and getting "High Def'd" in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/PGR3/" style="font-style: italic;">PGR3</a>. Since it would be boring to use some stock <span style="font-style: italic;">PGR4</span> logo as the image for the post, we're grabbing the Ariel's segment from Top Gear and spreading the love. Full list of announced vehicles after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/23/pgr4s-rubber-hits-the-road-october-2nd/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PGR4's rubber hits the road October 2nd</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/23/pgr4s-rubber-hits-the-road-october-2nd/">PGR4's rubber hits the road October 2nd</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Aug 2007 17:00:00 EST. Over at <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org">Xbox 360 Achievements</a>, there are a slew of new Achievements listed for retail and arcade games alike. They have <em><a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=264">Two Worlds</a>, <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=287">Skate</a></em>, which came straight from EA, <em><a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=301">Fatal Inertia</a>, <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=317">NHL 08</a></em>, &amp; <em><a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=200">Medal of Honor: Airborne</a></em>. On the XBLA side of things, there is the cheaper of the two Arcade games that came out today, <em><a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=345">Space Giraffe</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=418">Fatal Fury Special</a></em> and we're especially happy to see <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=419"><em>Sonic 2</em></a> make it there as well. A cool little reveal about <em>Sonic 2</em> is that it will have online multiplayer, derived from the splitscreen multiplayer found in the Genesis version. So, those are plenty of lists for you to examine for your next target of 1000 or 200 Gamerscore.<br />

It was nice to see the journalist in question take a step back and look at the game for what it is, regardless of the platform the site specializes in. Time is taken to make accurate comparisons between the performance on the 360 as well as the potential differences found should BioShock ever run on the PS3. All in all, it was a good read, and nice to see an unbiased review that isn't afraid to point out BioShock's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongue_in_cheek">glaring flaws</a> that take away from a potential immersive experience.<br /><br />Under the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/20/sdf-reviews-bioshock-first-unbiased-look-at-title/1#c6815056">advisement</a> of Heliophage: "Tee-hee-hee loljk guyz ^_^"<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/20/sdf-reviews-bioshock-first-unbiased-look-at-title/">SDF Reviews BioShock; first unbiased look at title</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Aug 2007 13:00:00 EST. Hot off the wire is that this week is that we're in for another Xbox Live Arcade twofer this Wednesday, with the release of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/SpaceGiraffe/">Space Giraffe</a></em>, as well as <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/StreetTrace/">Street Trace: NYC</a></em>. The former of the titles is from Llamasoft, and designer Jeff Minter, featuring 100 levels of gameplay, and completing them unlocks a new game mode (as long as you have a high enough <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/20/space-giraffe-is-done-now-with-more-graphs/">anal score</a>). <br />
<br />
On the <em>Street Trace</em> side of things, you get get your fill of arena battles and racing across the futuristic wastelands of New York City, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_McFly">Marty McFly</a> style. You have your choice of up to 8 player multiplayer over Live or 4 player splitscreen locally across the four arena stages. <em>Space Giraffe</em> will run you 400 MP and <em>Street Trace</em> clocks in at 800 Microsoft Points, and will be available 9:00 AM GMT or 2:00 AM PT and 5:00 AM ET.<br />

Splitreason a clothing company that does gaming related apparel, just <a href="http://www.splitreason.com/productdetail.php?id=457">released</a> "Achievement Locked" underwear for those of the female persuasion. They come in white, have a little "Achievement Locked" notification on the top left, and *ahem* look very nice. They come in at $12.95 and ship in two to five business days. We don't know about you, but this definitely gives new meaning to the term "Achievement Whore". Anyway, if you manage to unlock this one, <em>you win</em>. We got some model shots for you after the break, but obviously it may not be that safe for work.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/18/achievement-locked-undergarments-available/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>"Achievement Locked" undergarments available</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/18/achievement-locked-undergarments-available/">"Achievement Locked" undergarments available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 Aug 2007 14:00:00 EST. So, as luck would have it, I'll be in Toronto immediately after PAX'07. My flight comes in around 4:30 PM ET, and that evening I'll be free to <a href="http://xbox360fanboy.com/tag/X3FMeetup">meetup</a> with you readers. Unfortunately, Red Robin isn't as widespread as originally thought. It turns out there are <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Robin">only 18</a> in Canada, and much to my surprise, <strong>14</strong> of them are in British Columbia, which would explain how commonplace I thought they were. The other four are in Alberta which doesn't really help matters.<br /><br />What does this mean? This means I need <strong><em>your</em></strong> help figuring out a good place to wine and dine. As the people from the local meetup would recall, I'm a fan of good burger joints (and bottomless fries wherever possible). Any suggestions? Also, feel free to start "signing up" now, so I can organize an RSVP list. Either leave a comment with your attendence or eatery suggestion, or shoot me an email at david [at] xbox360fanboy [dot] com with the subject heading X3F@T.O. I look forward to seeing you there.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/18/x3f-meetup-toronto-ontario-on-august-27th/">X3F Meetup: Toronto, Ontario on August 27th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 Aug 2007 13:30:00 EST. Soft Targets gives insight into the Precision Tequila Bomb, and Gabe's definition of "headshot," and the Achievement that <em><strong>should</strong></em> be awarded for proficiency therein. The boys over at Xbox 360 Achievements came across a <a href="http://xbox360achievements.org/news.php?id=401">startling discovery</a>, there is a <a href="http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/Achievements/ViewAchievementDetails.aspx?tid=%09%5d%3a%15%18*iN%0a%07">second page</a> on Xbox.com that has a set of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo3/">Halo 3</a></em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/halo-3-achievements-nuff-said/">Achievements</a> that are all Secret Achievements. Now, if you take a look at the Gamerscore values, they are all consistent with the <a href="http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/Achievements/ViewAchievementDetails.aspx?tid=%09%5d%3a%15%18*iAr%07">list</a> of visible Achievements. Based on that, as well as the fact that there have been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/05/halo-3-achievements-updated/">recent updates</a> to images and meta game point requirements in the readable list, we feel this is either a glitch in the system more than Bungie trying to pull a fast one on Achievement Whores.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/secret-set-of-halo-3-achievements-found-on-xbox-com/">Secret set of Halo 3 Achievements found on Xbox.com</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 Aug 2007 12:35:00 EST. Last year, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/X06/">X06</a> <strike>came to Canada for the first time</strike>, and was held in Toronto, Ontario, and was significantly smaller than the one in Barcelona, but it was nice to have some semblance of the event represented in North America. Unfortunately, there isn't any word of where or when it is taking place in the post, but it is said to be "invite only" this time around.<br /><br /><font color="red">Update</font>: Xbox Canada's <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/community/jade/">Jade</a> sent us a message saying the Canada has been having X0 events since 2002, and that X06 was the first time it was opened to the public, and was merely a media event up to that point.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/x07-still-taking-place-in-the-great-white-north-eh/">X07 still taking place in the Great White North, eh? <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BeautifulKatamari/">Beautiful Katamari</a></em>'s demo just <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/14/demo-beautiful-katamari.aspx">landed</a> on Marketplace and has been rolling up a storm. At first, it was available on a recent OXM demo disc, but now it is available for the <strike>whole world</strike> Canada, America, and Mexico (read: North America) to download. It weighs in at just under 435 MB, so it's not going to break the disk space bank, although X3F reader Magic Whiskey tells us that it's also on the short side, but enough to get the premise of the game. Give it a download and tell us what you think.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/14/katamari-demo-rolls-up-get-it-marketplace/">Katamari demo rolls up (get it?!) According to Zathu, his store got a fresh batch of them, and noticed that they have their own SKU and UPC, and anyone can simply ask their local Best Buy if they have SKU <strong>8493838</strong> in stock. He also notes that they should have a seperate price tag denoting the HDMIness of the console for easy pick'ns. Major Nelson gives word that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GuitarHeroII/">Guitar Hero II</a></em> has another track pack <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/14/in-game-content-guitar-hero-ii.aspx">available</a> on Marketplace. This time, though, it's not a rehash of <em>Guitar Hero I</em> songs, but actually a band themed packed full of master tracks. Sounds too good to be true, right? Precisely, as it still costs 500 Microsoft Points, which is not <em>as</em> bad for fresh content, and the band in question is My Chemical Romance. Now, we've had a couple of <a href="http://podcasts.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/03/19/xbox-360-fancast-008-thats-so-emo/">rants</a> about reader response to anything involving MCR and their 360, and expect to see more of the same here. In any case, the songs in the pack are "Famous Last Words," "This is How I Disappear," and "Teenagers." Now, remember that it's down the road, and not across the street.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/14/dont-cut-yourself-just-yet-mcr-pack-on-guitar-hero-ii/">Don't cut yourself just yet, MCR pack on Guitar Hero II</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Aug 2007 09:15:00 EST. We just got word from Microsoft that this Wednesday we'll be treated to an XBLA twofer, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hexic2/">Hexic 2</a></em>, and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Ecco">Ecco the Dolphin</a></em>. <em>Hexic 2</em> will feature new formations, such as "lines" as the <a href="http://xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=290">Achievements</a> would suggest, new pieces, and a head to head multiplayer mode. Fortunately Alexey Pajitnov, who made the original <em>Hexic</em>, as well as <em>Tetris</em>, had his hand in this sequel, so fans should feel right at home. <em>Ecco</em> will also be available as part of the SEGA Vintage Collection, and will have Leaderboards for "Best Times" for the levels and enhanced sound and graphics. No official announcement on the pricing, but if you wanted our "professional" opinion, <em>Hexic 2</em> will go for 800 Microsoft Points, and <em>Ecco</em> at half that price.<br />

I also dabbed into the multiplayer portion of The Darkness, and scored some Achievements in that, as well as finally getting some overdue ones in the game's single player story. Gamersyde has a slew of new images of Battlefield: Bad Company. We haven't heard much on Bad Company short of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/05/new-bad-company-screens-are-looking-good/">a few</a> screenshots since the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/28/video-battlefield-bad-company/">trailer</a> hit <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/28/battlefield-bad-day-teaser-on-marketplace/">Marketplace</a> back in February. These new shots are all pretty slick, showing off the characters, hum-vees, helicopters, weapon models, and some spiffy explosions and destructible environments. It's looking very pretty and we can't wait until we get more details on how well it plays. Check out the screens after the jump.<br />

<font color="red">Update</font>: x360a has the <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/achievements.php?gameID=323">pictures</a> for the list in case you're interested.<br /><br />MyGamercard.net got <a href="http://news.mygamercard.net/2007/08/10/bandicoots-crash-into-mgc-leave-achievements/">their hands</a> on the Achievement list for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/CrashoftheTitans/">Crash of the Titans</a> </em>(which explains the slightly jumbled headline) today. The list seems to point at completing various tasks throughout the story, with some extra stuff thrown in for beating the game on the Hard difficulty and earning Gold Idols on all the levels on hard. Hopefully the Achievements will be retroactive so those who want to tackle those can get the other ones at the same time. There are also 5 secret Achievements which account for 75 Gamerscore. In total there are 47 Achievements for the standard 1000 Gamerscore.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/the-titans-of-achievements-crash/">The Titans of Achievements Crash [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 15:45:00 EST. In today's <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/10/marketplace-roundup-for-august-10-2007.aspx">Marketplace Roundup</a>, we've got a couple trailers for you. First off, for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/MaddenNFL08/">Madden NFL 08</a></em>, EA Sports Producer David Ortiz gives a demonstration of "Hit Stick 2.0", which should be interesting for those into <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/17-of-360-titles-are-shooters/">26%</a> of the 360's retail library. Next up, Clive Barker's <em>Jericho</em> also has a trailer available for your viewing pleasure which isn't available in Asia. Finally, a slew of downloadable costumes are available for <em>Rumble Roses XX</em>, each set costing you 80 Microsoft Points. Oh Joy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/jericho-and-madden-trailers-and-rumble-roses-dlc/">Jericho and Madden Trailers and Rumble Roses DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 15:30:00 EST. In response to our article about the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/17-of-360-titles-are-shooters/">percentage of shooter games</a> for the Xbox 360, X3F reader Crazed Geek took it upon himself to see how many <a href="http://rantings.ofacrazedgeek.com/2007/08/a-breakdown-of-the-best-360-ga.html"><em>good </em>games</a> on the 360 are in the shooter genre. His method of weeding out the less than stellar games involved removing any game that scored under 80 on Metacritic, and produced the above pie chart. So, with TPS and FPS combined, they come in at 22% of the good 360 games, moving up to second behind the Sports genre which continues to lead the pack. So there's some more food for thought, and good shooters still only take up slightly more than a fifth of the better titles available. Crazed Geek also has a nifty <a href="http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pz_ZTENXAsGTGNHaxxxZTZg">Google Spreadsheet</a> with all the games and their metacritic score.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/22-of-360s-good-titles-are-shooters/">22% of 360's good titles are shooters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 14:45:00 EST. So the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/X3FMeetup/">X3F Meetup</a> in Vancouver was a moderate success, in total we had 9 others show up, so it was a cool get together. Nick King showed up, but alas, was unable to give out any exclusive details on <em>Wolfenstein</em>, though he did say that after the NDAs cool down, that I'd be able to get a preview on the Multiplayer aspect over at <a href="http://threewavesoftware.com">Threewave Software</a>. To make up for the lack of details, he did give out 6 keys for the <em>Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Beta 2.</em> More details on the turn out, and the next X3F Meetup after the break.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/x3f-meetup-recap-next-stop-seattle-pax-07/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Meetup Recap, next stop Seattle (PAX '07) [update 1]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/x3f-meetup-recap-next-stop-seattle-pax-07/">X3F Meetup Recap, next stop Seattle (PAX '07) [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 14:00:00 EST. The nerds over at Sega ... Nerds <a href="http://www.seganerds.com/2007/08/08/scriptwriter-condemned-2-movie-still-in-the-works">unearthed</a> some details on the upcoming tie-in movie to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Condemned2Bloodshot/">Condemned 2: Bloodshot</a></em>, <em>The Forgotten</em>. According to scriptwriter Kurt Sutter, a director is now attached to the project, though we have to wait until Warner makes the official announcement. Sutter also mentioned that he is doing another big rewrite of the script. <br />
<br />
As for the storyline, Kurt couldn't give any new info, but said that their technique for not falling into the "crappy game movie" trap was pretty cool, as they screenwriter and devs were each given a 15 page outline of the character and world, and told to make a great script and game, respectively, on their own. So rather than one being based on the other, they're both inspired by the same core concept. We'll be sure to keep you informed on any new developments for the game or film.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/condemned-2-movie-tie-in-still-underway/">Condemned 2 movie tie-in still underway</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 11:15:00 EST. <div align="left">Think that the Xbox 360 is unjustly accused a "shooters only" platform? Well, the guys over at <a href="http://fpssource.net/2007/08/08/17-of-all-xbox-360-titles-are-fpstps/">FPS Source thought so</a>, and cataloged the current 137 titles available for the 360 into their respective genres and showed what's the most common on the system, and we met them halfway and generated this nifty pie chart for easy consumption. FPS take up 11% and Third Person Shooters take up 6%. The most common genres are either Sports titles, and Action/Adventure games. So, next time someone comments on there not being enough selection outside of the shoot 'em up style, set the record straight.<br /></div>

<br />So, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/07/impromptu-x3f-meetup-red-robin-in-vancouver-on-8th/">initial response</a> to our X3F meetup at Red Robin tonight has been good, but we've got some great news for those of you coming, and those of you on the fence. Nick King from <a href="http://www.threewavesoftware.com/">Threewave Software</a> shot us an email saying that he'll be showing up, and got the go ahead from his CEO to give <em><strong>exclusive</strong></em><strong> details</strong> on the multiplayer component of their upcoming <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfenstein_%28series%29"><em>Wolfenstein</em></a> game. We told him that if he had any swag lying around the office, that he's more than welcome to bring it along. <br /><br />The Red Robin in question has been informed of our attendance and we have a reservation under "X3F" and scored the patio. The weather is cloudy, right now, so we'll gauge whether we take the festivities indoors or not later this evening. Again, feel free to RSVP in the comments section, or by shooting me an email at david [at] xbox360fanboy [dot] com, with the subject "Red Robin" to confirm your attendance. <span style="font-style: italic;">Bottomless Fries FTW!</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br /><strong>When</strong>: 7:00 PM, Tonight (August 8th)<br /><strong>Where</strong>: <a href="http://www.dinehere.ca/restaurant.asp?r=1022">Red Robin</a> at <a href="http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=200-1001+W+Broadway,+Vancouver,+BC+V6H+4B1&amp;sll=49.26049,-123.11394&amp;sspn=0.281865,0.751877&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;z=16&amp;iwloc=addr&amp;om=1">Broadway &amp; Oak</a> in Vancouver, BC, Canada<br /><strong>What</strong>: Good food, times, giveaways, and Wolfy details<br /><strong>Who</strong>: Full RSVP list after the break<br /><br /><strong>Note</strong>: We're going to be bumping this story up throughout the day so that those in the Lower Mainland will have a chance to see it and perhaps make some last minute plans.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/08/x3f-meetup-red-robin-tonight-with-special-guest/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Meetup: Red Robin tonight, with special guest!</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/08/x3f-meetup-red-robin-tonight-with-special-guest/">X3F Meetup: Red Robin tonight, with special guest!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 08 Aug 2007 16:45:00 EST. Hopefully the short notice isn't too much of a bad thing, but if you live in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada, X3F (myself) will be wining and dining at the Red Robin in Vancouver (Broadway &amp; Oak) tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th, at <strong>7:00 PM PDT</strong>. As an added bonus, there will be a couple Rock Band shirts that'll be given away, the sizes of which are XL, along with some other goodies leftover from E3. <br /><br />Directions can be found <a href="http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=200-1001+W+Broadway,+Vancouver,+BC+V6H+4B1&amp;sll=49.26049,-123.11394&amp;sspn=0.281865,0.751877&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;z=16&amp;iwloc=addr&amp;om=1" style="">here</a>, as well as contact info for the restaurant itself <a href="http://www.dinehere.ca/restaurant.asp?r=1022">here</a>. Use the comments section as a form of RSVP, or shoot me an email at david [at] xbox360fanboy [dot] com, with the subject line Red Robin. Based on response, I'll shoot a reservation to the <em>Double R</em> under X3F. Depending on the weather, we may stake out the patio overlooking downtown. If you're in the area, we hope you can make it down.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/07/impromptu-x3f-meetup-red-robin-in-vancouver-on-8th/">Impromptu X3F Meetup: Red Robin in Vancouver on 8th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Aug 2007 14:00:00 EST. Following the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/06/track-and-field-leaps-into-live-arcade/">announcement</a> of <em>Track &amp; Field</em> yesterday, Microsoft gave us a sneak peak at the Arcade titles coming this month and in the coming weeks. They announced that this month we'll be seeing <em>Ecco The Dolphin</em>, which we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/17/ecco-and-sonic-receive-esrb-ratings-for-xbla/">caught</a> on the ESRB a while back, <em>Hexic 2</em>, and <em>War Worlds</em>. Outside of August, or potentially on the tail end as a twofer, we have <em>Geon: Emotions</em>, <em>Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords</em>, <em>Streets of Rage 2</em>, <em>Space Giraffe</em>, and of course, <a href="http://xbox360fanboy.com/spfiithdr"><em>Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>. Out of that line up, what are you most stoked for?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/07/summer-xbla-titles-announced/">Summer XBLA titles announced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Aug 2007 13:00:00 EST. This week, we cover a little bit of a backlog, as there's the survival of my Achievement streak during E3, my hitting of a couple Gamerscore Milestones, and the completion of a couple more 1000 GS rentals, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TMNT/">TMNT</a></em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Cars/"><em>Cars</em>.</a><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/06/achievements-101-the-return/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F Achievements 101: The Return [update 1]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/06/achievements-101-the-return/">X3F Achievements 101: The Return [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Aug 2007 14:30:00 EST. We just got the release informing us that this week's Xbox Live Arcade title will be the 1983 classic, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TrackandField/">Track &amp; Field</a></em>. As a retro title, it will run you (Nyuk!) 400 Microsoft Points, and will feature all the XBLA standards, like Achievements Leaderboards, and also has 4 player local and online multiplayer over Xbox Live, which is a nice touch. The main menu, pictured above, looks pretty snazzy, with a familiar red, white and blue motif. While it's not a twofer, it's still a nice retro title for the week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/06/track-and-field-leaps-into-live-arcade/">Track &amp; Field leaps into Live Arcade</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Aug 2007 12:35:00 EST. Take 2 Interactive just <a href="http://ir.take2games.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=258238">announced</a> that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GrandTheftAutoIV/">Grand Theft Auto IV</a></em> will be <strong>delayed</strong> until 2008's second fiscal quarter, to compensate for some development processes that have taken longer than anticipated. The release confirms that this is taking place for both consoles, so it should be expected than when a new firm date is announced, that the 360's will mirror the PS3's. <br /><br />There has been no word of what this means for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/16/gta-iv-episodic-content-exclusive-to-the-360/">episodic content</a> under development for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/26/only-gtaiv-on-360-is-complete-experience-says-rockstar/">360 version</a> of the game, as it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/18/did-microsoft-pay-50-million-for-gta-iv-content/">initially scheduled</a> for a second quarter release in 2008. While we are saddened that we won't be experiencing Rockstar North's grand opus this holiday, our wallets definitely feel the pressure being lifted, if only slightly. We'll have to wait and see how this affects Microsoft's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/10/engadget-and-joystiq-live-from-microsofts-e3-2007-keynote/">projected game sales</a> this holiday, as 2004 may still remain top dog with the absence of <em>GTAIV</em> in October.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/02/grand-theft-auto-iv-delayed-from-oct-to-fiscal-q2-08/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/02/gtaiv-delayed-until-2008s-second-quarter/">GTAIV delayed until 2008's second quarter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Aug 2007 17:45:00 EST. Suggestions posted in the comments section of <u><em>Capcom Digital's</em></u> (read: <strong>not</strong> X3F) post will be compiled, "weeded out internally," then their top ten will be posted in the forums for users to vote on. So, it sounds like there will only be one winner, though some of the common sense suggestions will possibly make it in anyway, as well as Capcom using this as feedback on general guidelines for <em>SSFIITHDR</em>'s Achievement requirements.
