Fatal Fury Special
Fatal Fury Special ... if the words, "SNK Playmore," mean nothing to you, then the '90s completely passed you by.
Release date: 9/5/2007
Metacritic score: 63
What they said: "Fatal Fury Special still represents excellent fighting mechanics, but the Xbox 360 controller's d-pad will cramp any fighting fan's style every time, the analog stick was never meant for 2D fighters, and Hori's new stick will, for whatever reason, not allow the Left and Right Triggers to be remapped." -- IGN
What we say: "It's a shame the Xbox 360's D-pad wasn't built with gaming in mind (What other excuse is there, really?). The D-pad is so inadequate for fighting games that just playing the demo of Fatal Fury Special will make you feel like the combatant on the right of the image. Buying it and realizing what you've done with your 400 MS Points will make you feel like the character on the left. The one who's on fire."

Using the analog pad on this game is NOT BAD AT ALL. I love D Pads too, but really, this is a fantastic game, ESPECIALLY for 5 bucks. Hyper Fighting shares the same "weakness" that this game does (Crappy default D-pad for system), and if you play SFIIHF, you probably have a decent solution already in place, whether it was learning to use the D-pad, using the Analog, getting a new Controller, or getting a Joystick...
And remember, Neo Geo Games only used 4 buttons. You only NEED 4 buttons to play this game properly, so even if you can't figure out how to map the final 2 buttons, it's still workable.
