out of all those titles you mentioned, only ridge racer 5 was a launch title. remember, the ps2 launched on march 4th 2000. when the ps2 first hit retail, it was so rushed that the first two models didn't even include harddrive bays.
plus, since the ps2 was rushed to retail tekken tag didn't make it making ridge racer 5 the best looking title at launch.
you are seeing the ps2 launch through rose colored glasses since you are thinking of the second time the ps2 launched to retail. the developers in america had 7 months more time of development then the japanese did which is why the titles look better.

actually, they had an exact release date, a set in stone price, and had playable games on the show floor of the tokyo game show in 1999. a full 6 months before the launch of the playstation 2. where did you get your information from?????
you only have to look back to the release of the ps2 to know that sony doesn't like leaking information or even game trailers until just a few weeks before the launch. in fact they unveiled the ps2 just 2 weeks before it launched.

As stated before, if the team was all male there wouldn't have even been a news story so it would have been impossible to comment.
My comment had nothing to do with them being female, it had to do with them being sponsored by the exact same company as the one who made the game.
