I'm not saying that people are saying he did this BECAUSE he's a gamer, I'm saying that people are making this into a factor of why he did it. I think that's what the media in general (excluding JT and a handful of others) are saying, that while gaming is not the cause, it seems to be a factor to them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the media's position on video games. I'm just saying this is slightly hypocritical.
I don't think you can have it both ways. Now that this has been posted and attention has been called to it, we have no right to complain when someone else posts something about someone doing something horrible--and oh yeah, they play games too. We fault the media (and Jack) for making a mountain out of a molehill, when we're doing the exact same thing right now. Imagine if the headline were "Gamer robs and shoots his victim". Our first response would be, "Well he was crazy anyway, games were not a factor."
I hope the irony was not lost on anyone else.
But in any case, pretty badass what the guy did and I hope he pulls through.
