If you had bothered to look this up on IMDB you would have found out that Avi Arad (producer of Spiderman, Ex-Marvel guy) has already bought the rights. The movie is scheduled for release in 2012. Check http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1482455/

Okay, here is the official word: Nintendo will implement a price cut across Europe from €249 to €199 with the exception of the UK and Ireland. This region will receive the improved bundle including Wii Sports Resort and Motion Plus. More details on my blog:

Rumor: Early Factor 5 Kid Icarus model flies out

Feb 2nd 2009 3:42AM (Joystiq)
Factor 5 did not close. That's completely false. I have little else to say other than that development on all current titles is continuing. See my blog: http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/2009/01/three-tidbits-of-exclusive-info-and.html

Happy second birthday to the Nintendo Wii

Nov 20th 2008 3:33AM (Joystiq)
The Wii is a success story that came out of nowhere, unparalleled in the history of videogames. While the public perception is one of the console offering mainly party games and casual titles, a darker side to it is emerging.

With a whopping 15 survival horror titles out or announced (six of which are exclusives) and the two most violent (and equally controversial) titles under its belt, 2009 may mark a turning point for the Wii. A number of mass media have started to report about this dark side and the first developers are starting to invest serious money into exclusive titles.

Of course, there are some key franchises missing. There is no Grand Theft Auto on Wii (although the DS version may herald a change of opinion at Rockstar). The Wii also went without titles like BioShock or Fallout 3 and studios like Epic openly exhibit hostility towards the console at times.

There is also evidence to the contrary. The Resident Evil series supports the console strongly, with three titles. However, rather than the "main" games, Wii is snatching an exclusive and two ports. It's the same story with the Final Fantasy franchise. Both Resi 5 and FF have not been announced for Wii, or at least not yet.

I believe that titles like Force Unleashed show how things will likely play out in the future. As the market leader by a long shot, Wii will get more of the AAA multi-platform titles, but the Wii versions will be developed by other studios.

2009 will be deciding the console's fate, though. The real litmus test will be titles like MadWorld, House of the Dead, Monster Hunter 3 or the Factor 5 projects. If they sell well, the industry will learn that it's worth the effort to carefully craft a game from the ground up and use the console's potential. If these games fail to sell, the Wii will always lack the respect of some parts of the industry with regard to core games and, consequently, a great deal of the AAA multi-platformers.

By the Wii's third birthday, we will know which way the console will go. For now, I personally congratulate Nintendo and am grateful for the little white box. I have always had plenty of great games to play, ranging from WarioWare and Wii Sports to Metroid Prime and Ghost Squad to The Godfather and the Star Wars titles. I would like to see more Zapper compatibility and could use an RPG and another shooter like Conduit. But the portfolio is the most varied out of the three consoles, so I am content to have only the Wii at home and the full triumvirate at work, in the newsroom. It works for me. Here's to the next two years!

Times: iPhone could be in 'same league' as DS, PSP

Aug 5th 2008 4:53AM (Joystiq)
I hate to point out a typo, but your headline confuses TIME magazine with The Times.

Other than that, I totally agree with those who have pointed out that the iPhone´s controls are good but nowhere near good enough to replace traditional elements like analogue buttons. Carmack may be excited and the device is sure to broaden the market, but it will never be able to facilitate complex portable games such as a Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario Kart (or 64 DS, for that matter) or a Portable Ops.

Rumor: Shenmue I and II Wii-makes coming

May 21st 2008 11:57AM (Joystiq)
I have just been on the phone to the author of this article and he gave me a little more detail. He heard the rumour from a Dutch game editor when he was at an event in the United States and is unsure whether that person had heard it from a direct source. He himself rates the rumour as unreliable.

This is from my blog: http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/2008/05/shenmue-to-hit-wii.html
