Joystiq live-ish at the U. of Illinois SSBB midnight launch

I am actually at the U of I and I can assure you it's not really that big. The video just makes it seem larger than it really is.

Disc errors plague some unlucky Brawlers, Nintendo offers repairs

While it's possible that it's a certain lens, it's also possible that it's dust. My wii is a launch unit and Brawl works fine.

GDC08: Wi-Fi good news, bad news

DLC is certainly a welcome addition though. With WiiWare launching as well as the Everybody's Nintendo Channel coming, seems a like positive year.

I don't think we need to quite get so worked about this yet. Nintendo's mantra for the last 2 years or so for both the Wii and the DS was that their online offerings would be free, but 3rd parties could charge if they so desired. I see this more as a classification system such they don't confuse consumers into thinking that all the games are free.

Sorry for the double post.

Wii Warm Up: Meeting expectations

I think it's already proven itself, just given what we know about the game so far if you looked at what's on the Dojo. All those extra game modes, features, options, etc are just amazing. Even the music is a very ambitious effort, one that I think is overlooked.

As for the character list, clones are actually not that bad. Lucas is not really that much uf a carbon copy if you actually go and compare his moves. There are 4 others in that roster that could be considered clones. This is out of a total roster of about 35 or 36 if you count Sheik.

Let's take a look at Melee. Out of 25 playable characters, there were 6 clones: Dr. Mario, Falco, Pichu, Roy, Young Link, and Ganondorf.

This means that they increased the roster by ten, and decreased the number of clones no matter whether you count Lucas or not. I am not sure how anyone could be sad about this roster.

If you want to be sad that there still are some clones, then go ahead and be sad because they said that there wouldn't be.

My point is though that everything they are putting into this game in my opinion already justifies that it will be a great game.

I don't know, I just didn't hear enough cowbell in that game.

Codies suit doubts Wii sustainability, expects Wii 2 'pretty quickly'

Nah, I'd say more of an elderly Bilbo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings.

Going with the Star Wars theme and quoting Yoda, "Force not make one great", and neither does processor power. sorry, just had to work that one in. Anyway, great graphics don't make games great. Graphics can certainly help, but their not everything.

Wii Warm Up: Licensed games

My favorite was Spiderman 2. The freedom in the air was just unmatched. Why they decided to go backwards with the other based off freeroaming boggles the mind.

If they can do them well, more power to them. If they're just going to make a crappy game simply because people will buy it, then I wish they wouldn't.
