As an addendum, this isn't Illidan vs. Full Power C'Thun who fought a bunch of titans. This is Illidan vs. The remnant of C'Thun which has regenerated. And remember that even full power C'Thun was backed up against those Titans by his Old God bretheren and their elemental armies.
Remember, Illinois was one of those states where they tried to pass one of those "illegal to sell adult video games to children" bills, only to have it quickly struck down as unconstitutional. I wonder if this will bring it back up?
Realize that some of these smashes are more single target focused vs. others, so some will seem much more impressive when you're fighting multiple opponents.
For example, Ness/Lucas's Starscream and Meta Knights (believe the "Slash" hits everyone)
Also, Olimar's Final Smash is a play on Pikmin's "take off at the end of the day". All the other players are left behind and eaten by the native aliens.
Accessability should not be a requirement for something to be a piece of art.
Look at Shakespeare. First, you have to speak English to read it (and not just conversationally, formally as he uses some esoteric words). That eliminates billions fo people from being able to access it. Also, to be able to truly appreciate it, not just read it, you have to be familiar with the play on words, the double entendre, and slang of the Elizabethan period to actually understand his jokes and puns he makes, as well as being familiar with classic literature to understand the allusions and references he makes.
Sure everybody can buy a small flimsy copy of "Romeo and Juliet" but have you ever seen the BIG thick copies where every single line is footnoted or annotated with definitions of abandoned old English words, with explanations to the (now mostly forgotten) myths or folklore the line reflects?
Or how about the medium of movies? It's less accessible because it requires some pretty high technology (by most of the world's standards) to have the means to project or play a movie. Should that be dinged against it. Because some Outback tribesman couldn't hook up a DVD player, does that make cinema not art.
And I agree with whoever said that this "depressing" thing is just another random criteria people who don't understand the media are going to throw out because they don't want to face the fact that videogames NOT are exactly like movies where generations ago. If someone showed this guy one of the many videogames that tug at the player's heartstrings, he'd throw out something like "Well, videogames are not art because the can only do action and tragedy, but not comedy." Then someone would throw out some Sam and Max and the cycle would just continue itself.
Pre BC we were running Scholomance and an Assassin Blade (BoE decent sword, world drop) dropped and somebody who wasn't me won it to sell on the AH. So we started talking about world drops we'd had as we cleared the early trash.
This guy in the group had the most insane, quasi Schizophrenic explanation ever on how they calculate when you get BoE epic drops. I can't even remember enough post it here but I remember a big part was that you had to move from zone to zone killing different types of mobs to keep people from "farming" the same mobs over again. He refused to listen to anyone else when they said he was crazy.
