I just read the update - at least he made things clear now.

Black Xbox 360 Premium rumor for $299 will not die

Mar 13th 2007 12:17PM (Joystiq)
I don't blame many of you for not reading the article - it is in German, but I read it, which is more than I can say for Blake Snow. Tthe article says NOTHING about a black Xbox for $299. In fact, it only says that ONE store chain in Europe reduced the price of the current system to 299 EUROS - that's EUROS not DOLLARS. 299 EUROS is about 395 USD.

So basically this story is tabloid fodder - no evidence whatsoever, and a blogger who apparently doesn't research his work before he writes.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Snake figure

Feb 6th 2007 12:36PM (Joystiq)
@Geves - this will undoubtedly cost more than $40 - expect something close to $200. When Medicom made their last RAH (stands for Real Action Hero) figures from MGS3: Snake Eater, they were limited release and cost upwards of $200.

Microsoft asks what's wrong with Asian gamers [update 1]

Kyle,

You are an idiot - the only country listed on that
site that is in Southeast Asia is Singapore. Korea (which I'll presume you meant South Korea since you can't advertise to North Koreans since THEY
DON'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS), Hong Kong, and Taiwan, are not a part of Southeast Asia.

Best Buy selling hoarded PS3s tomorrow morning

Dec 30th 2006 10:22PM (Joystiq)
I was at BB today, and they had a few PS3s on a display. I thought they were just display boxes, but they turned out to be the real deal.

No, I didn't buy one. I would've considered it, except that $600 is way too much.

Transformers alternate reality game?

Dec 22nd 2006 6:13PM (Joystiq)
Sector 7 is, according to one of the films actors (Shia Labeouf, who plays the character of Spike):

"Turturro [actor John Turturro] plays Simmons, who is the CIA agent who is so closed minded that he can't listen to a child. He's the head of a section of the government called Sector 7, which controls everything the CIA doesn't know about."

Like #7 says, Takara is the company originally owning the rights to the original Transformers, before Hasbro bought the rights to distribute in the U.S. This alliance was made in 1983. Originally, Takara distributed the toys as Microman and Daikron toys. Hasbro whipped up all the 'autobot' and 'decepticon' lingo.

Gamestop sells porn-packed used MemoryStick

Dec 8th 2006 5:39PM (Joystiq)
Gamestop is so full of crap. They don't wipe memory cards. They don't test games. They don't try all the systems they take back.

All they do is tell you that if a used item doesn't work, you can return it for an exchange. That is how they get out of having to actually test used items. So the "guaranteed to work" policy just means "we didn't test it, so if it doesn't work, we will just keep giving you the same thing until it does".
