FUNCTIONAL ELECTRICAL STIMULATION

See the link at http://www.sci-therapies.info/FES.htm.

"Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) uses low levels of electrical current to stimulate physical or bodily functions lost through nervous system impairment."

I think it's a perfect fit given the nature of the game ;)

Dan "Shoe" Hsu ends long career at Ziff Davis

Apr 11th 2008 2:54PM (Joystiq)
Arrogant little ****er - at least that's how he came across in the mag (I'm a subscriber) and online. Not unhappy to see him leave, he had this attitude like he was going to "change the world" or something - dude, you write about videogames!

In any case, it looks bad to see him tossed after his war with Ubisoft. I don't buy for a second that he wasn't tossed, what typically happens in these cases is that you agree to announce your "resignation" to save face, but still can argue termination or wrongful dismissal in court.

See ya Shoe, don't like to see guys fired, but if you have the right attitude and learn the right lessons, you'll be a better person for it.

Lego Batman's villain-packed trailer looks promising

I'm all for it if it (finally) adds four player multiplayer and at some online multiplayer. Otherwise, meh.

Halo 3 crowned TIME's game of the year

Finally, some sanity in game awards - and it came from the "non-enthusiast press". I agree with Time.

BioShock gets update and new plasmid DLC

Hopefully they've fixed the major flaw in the game which was the fact that the vita chambers made the game stupidly simple. Turning them off however may make the game stupidly hard.

At least the tried to improve what I feel was an average game, given the wealth of options that have come out since then.

Ubisoft defends Splinter Cell series changes

May 30th 2007 12:52PM (Joystiq)
The reason there's a lot of concern for the franchise is the Ubisoft has exploited the **** out of it - with basically a new game every year or so since 2002 when the series launched. They milk their franchises dry, rip any sense of story or continuity out of the plot lines (because there is none) and then exagerate the significance of the changes that do occur.

I've bought all four Splinter Cell games do date, and number 1 and 3 were great, numbers 2 and 4 sucked. I understand that there's different studios working on them, and that there's a corelation between the games I like and the Montreal vs. Shanghai studios - BUT - I'm still pissed off at the fact that Ubisoft decided to milk the franchise with two shoddy games rammed in between the two "real games".

The ironic thing is - they would have made more money if they never released games 2 and 4. Check out how Bungie's doing...
