I kind of like the way this is shaping up. Maybe this will shake up the console release schedule enough that it's not all new consoles released around the same time everytime. If Microsoft and Sony can get a 2-3 year gap between their new consoles, then there would be no more waiting 5 years for new hardware. Every 2 and a half years there would be a new console to buy, whether it be the new Xbox or the new Playstation, that offers slight improvements over the competitors newest machine, and vast improvements over the last version of the same machine.
