Price drop in '07??? Do you think Sony WANTS to be selling this thing for $600?? They don't. They are forced into it so they lose the least money possible. that Blu-Ray and Cell stuff may have sounded good in the lab 4 years ago, but when it got to production time, it's a very expensive road to be on. Too late to turn back too. It takes a while for a new technology to come down in prodcution price. Sony has shareholders and they can't keep losing millions every quarter. No price drop in 07 I think. More like Summer 08. They might drop it a C-note then maybe another 50 at Christmas.

This is the bullshit of bullshit! This thing is supposedly NEVER going to be released in the UK, and amazon US refuses to ship one here. I'm going to have to go back to the states myself, or get one smuggled in some how.

Is this the confirmed MSRP for PS3 games? I was afraid it was going to be higher 65-70.

If Apple owned Nintendo right now, the Wii would be the one being released for $600.

Apple got lucky with the iPod which will eventually play out one day. Macs will always be a niche, don't get it twisted.

If Apple bought Nintendo they would bungle the product line for about 4 years and then just suddenly cancel all of the products and the support with no remorse whatsoever.

If it's any better it's because it has good gameplay, like having actual moves combo unlike DOA's button mashing. I wish this was coming out at launch. I seriously will delay my PS3 purchase if it doesn't come out with a good fighting game to buy. Where's the Mortal Kombat and SoulBlade news at?

I'd always planned to get an 360 and a PS3 because since the Sega days I always get the the main two consoles. SNES and Genesis, N64 and PS1, PS2 and Xbox. After the N64, I never even consider Nintendo systems anymore, they just seem too "kiddie" for me and I fell old enough. I got a PSP and never considered the DS.

Now with the price point and the likelihood that the PS3 will be equal to but not really better than the 360, the only thing left is the games. I personally hate RPGs and nenver gave a damn about Metal Gear. No one really knows what the exclusives situation will be. Japan aint the whole world and companies may start to take the same approach as Rockstar this gen.

So that means I'm paying $600 just to play Tekken and God of War. Maybe this time I'll just have the one system and play DOA and Too human instead.

I mean seriously $600? "But what about all you get for it blah blah blah" Even if Blu-Ray was gauranteed to win the format war doesn't mean I'd get one this year or next. When I got my DVD player it was year late but it was just the right time because the movies I wanted were out. I'm still high up on a pre-order list and I'll stay there, I'll decide what to get or not get at launch.

No problem, just buy those good older games that you never bought. It's cool cause you save money too with platinum editions and the like. I'm laying off the 360 these days, playing my PS2 again. I just got God of War for £12.

Sounds like the UK government should take this up with the manufacturers. There's no way I'm going to unplug and replug somthing everytime I use it.
