@Hunter141072 I was talking about the original publisher of Star Control 3, who people assumedly don't want to give money to because they don't like the game; I wasn't talking about folks behind digital distribution services.

Although I believe Activision is the current owner of the SC trademark, so that adds an extra layer of hilarity to the conversation.

I've been going for years on the hearsay of everyone who claims Star Control 3 is crap compared to 2 (or even 1), but have never played it myself. There are probably folks who'd tell me it's not worth giving the original publisher any money, but really, for only $6, I'm too curious to pass up the chance to see it for myself.

@Zeratul The post itself mentions it, because this is the same guy who did that one. He made a sequel, basically.

#1: SquareEnix doesn't care about the US anyways when it comes to these games; they'll sell millions upon millions in Japan alone.

#2: Speaking of millions, Wii's sold 30 million more systems than both PS3 and 360, and Squeenix always brings DQ to the most popular system.

Just goes to show that even spiffy new graphics can't make those Great Fairies any less terrifying.

All these hot new upgraded graphics and they couldn't bother to trade out some of those old hat instrument samples? :(

I'm sure if Miyamoto ever made a game like Steel Battalion, his game wouldn't delete your save file if you died without ejecting.

@VeeDeeVee Considering America is the main place where the numbers were confused in the first place, of course this issue is only going to really apply to Americans. But even then, the only people I know that still make the mistake are gamers who were around in that era who don't game now, which itself is a rare form of beast.
