Everyone seems to be asking about the gamerpics thing and im about 98% that I read the answer to this and didn't simply dream it up: You can still use your gamerpics where the little face of the avatar is in the top right or wherever but Microsoft "strongly advises" you to use the avatar system instead.

Bit dissappointing really, I liked mopping up the original acheivments for this game. Initially I thought that the 36 achievments would give you a cumulative total of around 30G, Valve adding a new set of achievments for each class they gradually update (i.e. Demoman gets a further 36 achievments for 30G)...thought it would be kinda cool. Let's just hope that Valve, having been so good at begging the first time to get the original 99, can convince Microsoft to let them have another few hundred achievments...a man can dream...

Agree with most of that.
As a previous diehard Halo fan who was crapping his pants in anticipation for Halo 3 I must say that I was thoroughly disappointed with the third installment. The single player was fairly dull and the multiplayer got very boring very quickly. I agree that CoD 4 is a better shooter overall with one of the best single player campaigns to date not to mention how stunning it looks.

To be honest I would have given CoD 4 the award for best MP as it seems to hook me a lot more than Halo 3 did...

How could you miss out the Ctrl Alt Del comic on mass effect. Made me laugh out loud: "hehe, blue boobies"

Finally, some achievments that will keep some of us occupied. Although I will be distracted with Halo 3, Mass effect, Assassin's Creed etc. I will still be giving this game(s) a lot of attention.

I'd much rather have these 99 good achievments that may present a challenge than the appauling 49 sad excuses for achievments Halo 3 is offering.

Admittedly this one isn't great by any means but if you use the annalogy of a 12 year old messing around on photoshop for this new box then the old box was created by a 12 year old messing around on microsoft word, experimenting to see if he could create a picture without using his hands, the resulting image created from a combination of head banging against the keyboard and occasional nudges of the mouse with his torso.

Admittedly this IS a "BAD DESIGN" but it is by no means worse than the other one. And to say that "I'll qualify that assertion as I make my living as a designer" only leads me to think that your employers need to have a serious re-think about their team of designers....

I am very close to buying these maps. Hopefully a combination of GHII, Shadowrun and Forza 2 will keep the temptation at bay....
