your logic is terrible. All of your statements could've been (and were) made about the iphone at launch, hell - even when the 3g launched - and yet you're making the same mistake so many made once more.
Competition is good. Apple put out a pretty solid device. Apple failed in a lot of ways with said device, and still has a lot of people unhappy with the current situation (the jailbreak scene is still huge). They've fixed a lot of their failures now - but this is the 3rd iteration of the OS. It shouldn't take 2 years to fix something that could've been there the whole time. Apple continues to fail in many people's minds with their contract to AT&T exclusively. AT&T plans are terrible, their 3g coverage is crap, and their add on fees for services like txt are sometimes double that of competitors (AT&T unlim txt addon - $20, Sprint Unlim txt addon - $10).
Maybe the pre will make apple wakeup and smell the capitalism and start offering devices that fit more people's needs on multiple carriers, or with physical keyboards. Either way - they've obviously got the touch screen down, as it is one of the best I've used.
Try to get to know a wireless phone store guy near you. Apparently, my friend (a wireless phone store employee) said I should be OK with my sero plan - that as long as I have data, he should be able to switch me to any phone, even if it's under the same "rules" as the instinct.
When I read that stuff about Sero and the pre, I almost lost my shit. I can't give up my plan....
My gf bought me a new DSLR since my last was stolen from my apt in August though, so my bday is already pretty badass. A copy of RE5 wouldn't hurt to top the cake though :)
I doubt she'll see this, but if this page (comments included) are indexed by google and she searches my usernames/email address ever: I love you jacqueline. Thank you so much!
They said no hotsync functionality, but if you can get OTA updates for PalmOS apps inside the emulator (meaning network functionality), and have access to the device's bluetooth in the PalmOS emulator, I can only hope this application still works.
I have a vostro 1400 and I've really liked it so far for the price.
I really wish they would've added another fan for the gpu though, or put a larger fan on the bottom. Basically, the cooling system is the only thing that's really gotten to me thus far. Oh, and no back usb ports & power. Power is on side and so are usb ports, so when you plug it in, and have a mouse attached (that isn't bluetooth) and you have it on your lap while playing games, you have two things sticking out the side (or sides if you put one on each). With games in mind, if you try to arrange the machine on your legs so the fan is free and clear, you'll be pressing on the usb & power plugs, or you'll have to do the one leg balancing act.
This isn't that much different than most laptops though, and it's still not as loud as a macbook pro.
I'm guessing you think all the people walking around using iphones just "look cool" too right?
And people who pay more than $5 for a pint are just way better. Oh yeah, and organic is the the only way to buy produce. Whole foods are just so much better.
Great post in regards to development environment doug. I feel your pain.
Also, don't forget the "time machine" funcionality - while not being done in core animation, the feature is there in vista. Vista constantly ghosts files on your disk while also keeping copies of versions along a period of time. You can also use system restore to restore your pc to a given restore point in the past.
The only thing I see wrong with leopard is that they're charging for it. This really seems like a $129 service pack.
As for the dpad being this game's worst enemy comment - use the analog stick, it's really not bad in this game(though it is in so many other pacman games).
I really think no xbl "Arcade" style game should be over $5. It'd be different if they grouped the games differently, so "made for xbox live" games could be grouped separately from the the arcade style games...but to say this game costs as much as Castlevania SOTN is ridiculous. All arcade style games - $5. Who's with me?!
