Joystiq's video tour of Avatar Kinect
Jul 25th 2011 10:38PM (Joystiq)XBLA prices slowly rising, says Microsoft
Jul 24th 2011 5:46PM (Joystiq)That's because XBLA is the opposite of what one might normally consider a "free market". Prices are dictated by Microsoft (just ask Valve), prices don't decay with time (XBLA launch titles are still at original prices; disc-based launch titles can sometimes be found for less than those prices; also, note that things like the $30 DLC for Samurai Warriors hasn't changed even when you can get the game itself for $5), and they only go on sale when Microsoft decides they go on sale, and for how long.

Jul 13th 2011 12:05PM (Joystiq)If my component-only HDTV hadn't crapped out on me a year ago (or, if I owned a PS3), I might care more. But unlike the commenters who believe "it doesn't affect me, so this news is useless," it's worth publicizing so people can double-check their connections before they freak out and figure Sony dropped blu-ray movie playback altogether.

May 6th 2011 8:52AM (Joystiq)Oh wait, that's "confusion and delay", not "inconvenience and concern".
XBLM 'coming soon' schedule features a few sales, fewer surprises
Apr 27th 2011 9:16AM (Joystiq)And it would *still* be overpriced.
I bought the game *two years ago* for $6. The DLC is $30. Half-off would still be more than I paid for the actual game.
This is the difference between a free market and a corporate-controlled marketplace.
