Call of Duty: World Fails at Buying It

Dec 21st 2008 11:45PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I personally have both MOH:H2 and COD:W@W and yes while MOH has the controls down COD doesn't have the lag while playing online and the graphics in COD are much better. I am also one who is looking forward to the Conduit but I am just hoping for a friend code free environment since it will be supporting voice chat. I would love to be able to chat it up with everyone I am playing online with and not just the ones that are on my friend list. Does anyone know the details of the online content in the Conduit.

Wii Warm Up: Expense

Nov 22nd 2008 11:20PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I feel that I have gotten what I paid out of my Wii but I learned fast to stay away from all of the extras that everyone has when I bought a cooling station with built in lighting that ended up shorting out and killing one USB port on my Wii which warranty didn't cover.

Wii Warm Up: Expense

Your best bet is spend the $20 on the Energizer 15 minute charger that comes with four batteries. Also note that this charger doesn't do a good job with the cheaper brand batteries.

Wii Warm Up: Are you satisfied?

Oct 5th 2008 10:31PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I am truly happy with the Wii. I am glad that we are not getting much this Holiday Season. There are a ton of games that have already been released that I didn't have the time to enjoy, so I am taking this Q3 and Q4 to catch up on some gaming. Right now I have 3 titles that I have yet to even open. Also the question was asked before on this thread and no one has even discussed it but "Why so long for the update to use the SD card?" It is a simple firmware patch or maybe even a complete OS update but to wright the programming for that wouldn't take them to long unless they are planning something else with that update. As of now I am putting a hold on buying anymore WiiWare titles until I can expand my systems memory because to be honest I have a 7 year old who loves the Wii as much as I do and I am getting tired of swapping games on a day to day basis just based on what he wants to play and what I want to play.

Now back to the slow spell this Holiday season I think is smart for Nintendo since the frenzy last year at this time many great games didn't do great sales due to the fact that there was way to much being flooded onto the market. If anything it is a good Idea to have a slow point every now and then to up the figures on already released games.

Wii Warm Up: Are they still playing?

Sep 14th 2008 9:31PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Well I do have to say that I am also another gamer that is slowly getting burned out on the Wii but at the same time I still don't see getting the 360 or PS3. The last game I got was MKW and I still play it on occasion and always pulling out Wii Sports when the in laws come to visit. I have already burned through all the core games the Wii has to offer and the only game I am going to get between now and years end will the SW TFU. I am not into the whole Animal Crossing thing and everything else in this years line up looks pretty grim. I may pick up Disaster day of crisis but I am still on the fence about it. For next year my only dream game is The Conduit.

Nintendo randomly reveals WiFi Network Adapter

Sep 8th 2008 9:46PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
This has got to be one of Nintendo's dumbest moves yet. It's like they really want to screw with our heads by giving us this crap way out of left field. Most people that has a Wii and wants it online already have it online. Also at best this may be a wireless G router which the one I use I picked up for $5.

Miyamoto and Reggie talk storage solutions, peripherals

Sep 8th 2008 9:35PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think since the patent was just filed for the holographic storage that it may be a next gen thing since R&D takes lots of time then after you figure out how to make your product work smoothly then you have to make the technology affordable. That was Sony's downfall with the PS3 they rushed BlueRay and it still has a big price tag and as they find ways to make it work cheaper the price will slowly come down.

If Nintendo wants to do things right then holographic storage will be seen in the next generation of consoles so that their next system would be new tech while still keeping a reasonable price tag. As for the storage problem with the Wii I can see that we may be screwed since they have yet to do the cheapest and most logical thing by simply allowing the use of flash drives or SD cards (which would be a simple firmware update). Storage is the big flaw of the Wii and it was obviously not thought out very well or Nintendo had no idea that they would do WiiWare by launch.

Wii Warm Up: Best online?

Sep 7th 2008 9:49PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm late for this discussion but I have to chime in with MOHH2 being the best. A simple but effective messaging interface, no codes to key in, and the ability to create matches your way makes this game the best. As for Nintendo titles MKWii has it going on. a great lag free fast paced game makes for a good time. I also agree with everyone else the SSBB sux online in random matches but runs perfect for friend matches. That is also the reason I have traded that game out.

Now I know that the big N is coming out with voice chat so that does fix one of my concerns online they still need to get rid of the friend codes and add the ability to add users after you have finished a game.

P.S. Someone mentioned above about the cheating in MOHH2 I have to say that it is not a cheat but rather a glitch that happens after you switch teams many times and any player with a bit of respect for others would log out and back in so they could be killed like the rest of us.

Rumor: Disaster: Day of Crisis speculation hots up

Aug 28th 2008 8:34AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I am looking forward to this game but I don't think it will be a day one purchase. I may wait a few weeks after release to make sure it will be worth the price.
